Laila took the paper. Read it. “I will be there.” She wanted to ask where this was the address to. However Rhee didn’t seem to like to be questioned. “Um…is there anything I need to do to prepare for our meeting. I don’t do well with surprises.” She was thinking back to when she first initially entered the Holosuite and things did not go as she expected.
Dacascos, COO
“No.” Rhee leaned in, her gaze intense. “You want to learn courage and combat skills? I can teach you the combat skills, but courage comes by how you react. learn to suppress your fear and channel it, or else you’ll always be a defenceless girl. You want help? Help yourself first.”

She thought about the advice Rhee gave. Learn to suppress your fear and channel it. Laila didn’t know the first thing about it. Where would she even start? “I…I…” Laila didn’t know what to say. “I will meet you at 10 a.m. I won’t be late.”
Dacascos, COO
Rhee looked doubtful but at the same time didn’t dismiss Dacascos. She gave a nod and simply spun on her ball of her foot and headed towards the back.

The next day when Laila arrived. She felt ready, but she didn’t know what expect. It was impossible to know what kind of hell Rhee would put her through but she was determined to be tough…whatever that meant. As she arrived at the meeting spot she shouted in an attempt to muster the energy she thought Rhee would want to see in her, “Rhee! I am here! And I am ready! Let’s go!”
Dacascos, Ready for Whatever..Maybe
The address was a simple warehouse space. Nothing fancy but clean and well maintained, with cargo all stacked in orderly groupings. There were levels of storage with various catwalks ad ladders around the perimeter. “Boom! I just blew off your head,” a voice echoed through the space, sounding like it came from higher up.
When she heard the Boom from Rhee, Laila almost jumped out of her skin. She looked up.
Rhee appeared on the third level and leaned on the railing, peering down at Dacascos. “You know, you really don’t have much in the way of survival instincts. We’re going to have to fix that.”

As she held her chest. “Yeah?” Said Laila with an attitude. “Well, I know how to shoot a phaser and I can run. Fast too. Am I a super secret intelligence spy? No. But I want to be…or something like it. And that’s why I am here.”

Rhee moved to a ladder and began climbing down. “Rule number one, know what situation you’re walking into. And if you can’t, then go in cautiously, use all your senses. Trust your instincts. It might save your life.” She moved down further below the second level and then pushed off the ladder, letting herself drop a great distance. She coiled her body as her feet hit the ground, absorbing the shock without any pain, and Rhee simply rose with fluid grace.
~Rhee
“Okay, I get it. The way I walked in, shouting, if I had been in a hostile situation I would have gotten blasted.” She crossed her arms and then said, “Well…I…I” She paused because anything she would say afterward was going to be related to a teaching moment, “I didn’t know that we were starting right when I arrived, but I know you are going to reiterate that I should have been prepared and knew what situation I was walking in. I guess everything is going to be a test and part of my training from this point on.”
Dacascos, COO
Rhee simply regarded Laila with slight indifference. “I asked you to show up to an address that you didn’t know and hadn’t likely been before. I’m not out to trick you, but I’m not going to play fair because a lot of people out there won’t either. This is about taking in what you’re learning and not having to remember it, but feel it, because the motions and reactions are second-nature to you.”
~Rhee
Eulalia squinted her eyes and asked, “What do you mean feel it? How can you feel combat aside from being struck during battle?” She crossed her arms. Rhee didn’t make any sense. “I need to know how to make my opponent suffer if they ever try to cross me in battle. I don’t want to know how to play mind games, Rhee.”
