Natalie stepped through the door to her office with the various officers that had been in the transporter room. She stepped behind her desk and took a deep breath before turning around “Okay. … I want to know everything that is going on. No stories, half stories or anything else.” She said very clearly “I want to know what you were doing down there and what you know about the threats that have been made toward the diplomats and other important people.” She said “Get my drift?”

Persephone followed behind the CO as they moved into the office. She glanced from Paris to Lawrence then back again. Realizing her silence wasn’t a good thing, she spoke up first. “I don’t know it all, Ma’am. Lawrence asked me to accompany him and Paris to the surface to find some missing folks. But then things went weird.” She turned slightly so she wouldn’t see her companion’s faces. Paris would beg her silently to stop, she was sure, and Lawrence would probably try and mentally throttle her. But she was upset, knew answers needed to be had.

Just as she was going to blurt out everything, including her own thoughts, she brought herself up short and calmed down. Lawrence had said it was a mission of great importance. If the CO didn’t know, there was a reason. So while she would give her information, because she’d already begun, she would do her best to remain neutral in the report. “The embassy was completely empty. We swept the building to see what happened, but when we got to one of the upper floors, the building was besieged. We locked ourselves in one of the main offices and tried to get security measures to work till we could get beamed back out.” She was being truthful in her report, so there was no reason the CO would have a reason to doubt her. But at the back of her mind, she wanted to put Lawrence against a wall, press a phaser to his hip and demand answers.

“Besieged?” Mason asked, frowning. “By who? That isn’t exactly something that the Ferengi would normally undertake willingly”

Natalie looked at Mason but didn’t interrupt him, he was right and that was a very odd stance. It could also explain the Ferengi that had approached her and given her the fine. Maybe she wouldn’t pay that after all and see what happened. She shook the thought from her head and turned her attention back to the three officers standing in front of her. She looked at Lawerance “Mr. Lawerance…what do you have to add to this?” She asked pointedly.

As if being possessed by another entity, it was Lawrence who spoke, but seemingly another person… but the crew didn’t take notice of the change. “It’s obvious that the reforms created by Grand Nagus Rom has caused the opposition to use fear tactics to shift the blame on outsiders and especially the Federation. Obviously, someone wants to get rid of Federation officials by any means possible and make an example out of them.”

Seph frowned. He had led them down there, led ‘her’ down there and now they were all pawns? It didn’t make sense, she half murmured, “So someone hired those thugs to kill us and the place was empty on purpose?” She crossed her arms and glared at Lawrence, unaware like the others, that he wasn’t himself.

Straightening up, she shook her head. “Permission to go, Captain?” She hoped it was granted, she needed to go punch something. If she stayed in here, it was going to be Lawrence. His power had gone to her head and she was almost killed for it. It wasn’t sitting well with her.

Natalie looked at Seph “No you’re not dismissed.” She said “You can deal with your anger later.” She said “So what you are saying, Mr. Lawerance, is that this was all a set up.” She said “Give me something else.” She said “This is ridiculous. I want answers, tell me where I can find Rom. ” She said and looked at Black “Scan the entire damn planet, I want Rom found and brought to the Asimov.”
