Dacascos and him were going to have to depend on each-other in a few days when they arrived at their location, so it was a good idea to get more comfortable as coworkers before things came to the dangerous part. In pursuit of that, he’d asked her to meet him in the Mess for coffee - although he’d made it clear that it was a request, not an order. He hoped she’d come, but there was no guarantee. He nursed a cup of a coffee-like beverage from his homeworld and tried not to watch the door.
