Paddy was tired; the Asimov’s last mission mascarading as a group of merciless pirates had certainly taken its toll on the entirety of the crew. Relationships between officers had been strained, not least the relationship between McMillan and Commander Shara Calloway. McMillan knew that it would take a long time for some of the crew, himself included. Some of those meetings were going to make for interesting reports to Captain Kiernan; at least the information each crew member would allow him to divulge. On the other hand however, Paddy couldn’t help but notice that he and Lieutenant Eualia Dacoscas were getting along quite well, so he was looking forward to being able to get to know her a little better in a more formal setting.Arriving outside Eualia’s quarters, Paddy found himself subconciously checking his looks in the reflection of a wall panel. Clicking the door chime, Paddy rested his arm against the frame of the door, a charming grin on his face.
-Lieutenant Patrick McMillan: Counsellor-
“Hey, Paddy!” Said Laila, as the door slid open. She had a bright smile that showed her dimples. A workaholic she was still in her uniform, the dress, not the pant version, just in case she should get called to the bridge for any reason.
“So just to let you know, I do not plan on passing out.” She joked as she stepped out of her quarters and began walking beside him. “I am glad we get the opportunity to hang out,” she said, “I have only been able to connect with a couple of people since I have been on the Asimov and they are like a 100 times older than me so,” she laughed at her own exaggeration, “Both of them have that, Oh she is just a kid mentality. I am sure that everyone else thinks I am either spoiled because of my privileged background and…or weak because I am generally non confrontational. Anyway, I never did get the chance to say thank you for being nice to me and helping me overcome one hell of a hangover. “Dacascos, COO
“The Irish always do anything for a damsel in distress Lalia, if I can use the shorthand version of your name?” A thought crossed Paddy’s mind and he pulled something from his uniform jacket, “A bottle or two of these probably won’t hurt though right?” The same ‘miracle cure’ Irish whiskey was now in Paddy’s hand as a ‘you know you want to’ look crossed his face.
-Lieutenant Patrick McMillan: Counsellor-
“Your right, I do.” She grabbed the bottle from him. “So I guess one is for you and I this one is for me?”
Dacascos, COO
“You read my mind, unless you want to share the one?”
-Lieutenant Patrick McMillan: Counsellor-
BUMP
-Kieron-
Laila shook her head, “Being an only child sharing is a skill I have not quite mastered yet.” She said with a grin. As they entered the lounge and approached the bar, she sat on one of the stools and said, “So how did you come upon this miracle cure? Is it an old family recipe?”
Dacascos, COO
“I’m Irish Laila,” Paddy said with a grin, “If Doc Ryley were to scan me, she’d probably find traces of this whiskey in my blood.” He crossed to the other stool and procured two coffee mugs from one end of the bar, “To a decent night together?”
-Lieutenant Patrick McMillan: Counsellor-
BUMP
-Kieron-
“Absolutely, to a decent night.” She didn’t pour any in the coffee mug Paddy has gotten for them, instead she opened the bottle and took a drink straight from the bottle. Immediately she began to cough from the potency of it. She held her chest and said, “Ah! This is just as bad as the moonshine!”
Dacascos, COO
Paddy threw his head back and laughed, “But it certainly makes the night more interesting.”
-Lieutenant Patrick McMillan: Counsellor-
Laila folded her arms across her chest then pouted, “Paddy, don’t laugh at me. You should have warned me not to drink it straight from the bottle.”
She took one of the mugs he had gotten and then said, “Don’t forget I am not Irish and I definitely don’t have whiskey in my blood. Just a girl who had never had a drink till she joined the Academy and started hanging out with other cadets. The downside of having a daddy who is an admiral and a mommy who is a diplomat and having a mostly sheltered life. So now you know what that means…” she held up the mug and bottle, one in each hand, “I am going to act out every chance I get now.” she said with a big grin.Dacascos, COO
“Challenge accepted,” Paddy winked, swigging from the bottle once more.
-Lieutenant Patrick McMillan: Counsellor-
“Great, so what can I mix this with so that I don’t fall off my barstool and die? You know if anything happens to me Ryley is going to hit you over the head with his heavily modified tricorder,” she joked.
Dacascos, COO
“Jesus don’t joke,” Paddy chuckled, “I’m already on a bad foot with one of the crew and that’ll do me nicely. To answer your question, are you familiar with the old Earth drink known as Coca-Cola?”
