Bethany nodded, “So does that mean you’re done with me for now, or to get out while you work?” Then Bethany asked something she never thought she would. “Hey, Ryley, would a sleep aid, really mess me up? I’m exhausted.”

Looking ponderous Ryley said “ehh, no. You can stay here if you want. I may just not be the best of conversation at points.” He raised an eyebrow at her second point and looked back at the readings. “I wouldn’t think so…possibly but if it does we’d have a new symptom to work with, I can give you something but You can either stay here for observation or I’d fit a recording device that will alert me or someone in sickbay if your heart rate does a dive bomb. Up to you kid.”

Kid? Oh that hurt. If Bethany was honest though, she felt a little like a kid if she let herself be scared over it. A monitor to alert if her heart did a dive bomb. No thanks. “I think I’ll stay here, and if I’m actually asleep I won’t care about the conversation. I’ll make the most cooperative patient.”

Ryley’s expression turned sympathetic, just for a split second, and then it was gone again. Or maybe it was a trick of the light, who knew? He limped off across sickbay and began rummaging. “I don’t get the impression that you were being an uncooperative patient.” He was back with a device in hand and a pillow and blanket under his arm. He dropped the blanket over the bottom of the bed and handed her the pillow as he continued. “That being said if you decide to bite me I’m going to be very disappointed.”

“Try not to be, Doc. We all have enough isri to deal with.” Bethany laughed, albeit tiredly, “I only bite if asked nicely, Doc.”

He was fiddling with a metal device that he then reached over and placed onto Bethany’s forehead. “Alpha wave inducer, should keep you out for a while.” He didn’t activate it just yet, letting her get comfortable again first,

Bethany eyed the device, recognizing it, closing her eyes as he placed it. She toed her boots off and dropped them to the floor under the bed. Bethy tucked the pillow under her head, pulled the blanket up, closed her eyes, “Oh hang on.” =/\=Gadi to Ridad=/\=

=/\=I’m in sickbay, you’re in charge. Gadi out.=/\=

She nodded at Ryley, “Alright, night, Doc.”

Once Bethany got settled Ryley activated the device and watched the readouts for a few seconds. “Night.” He said somewhat awkwardly and then waited for her respirations to turn to the tell tale signs of sleep. Turning he limped over to the next biobed and pulled himself up to watch the readings. There he sat for a while before he too lay back on his bed and folded his arms behind his head while he pondered. What was infection but not infection.
