After settling in her room, Eulailia headed to sickbay for her medical evaluation. Her mother used to make sure she went to see the family doctor regularly from the time she was an infant all the way through till she left to join the Academy. She was ashamed that she had not prioritized her health and reported regularly for her last few medical evaluations. Starting to feel nervous, she was sure that some of the standard required immunizations were overdue. Her mother would have a fit if she knew and the thought of having to get multiple hypospray injections made her feel dizzy. Thinking about all this, she had to stop and steady herself using the wall. “Jeez,” she hissed to herself, “after all these years you’d think I’d be used to it.” Taking a couple of breaths, she threw her waist-length black braids over her shoulder and said to herself, “I am used to it. Just having an unnecessary panic attack because I missed one…two…probably four medical evaluations. At most I will need four injections and there is no way anyone will let my mother know I have missed my medical evaluations because I am an adult and I have a right to privacy.”
Her lips stretched into a relieved grin, then she started walking fast toward sickbay. When she reached the door, she said to herself, “Alright, let’s get this done and over with.”, and walked in.

Decascos, COO

Sickbay was empty. Save for a man with long hair tied back in a pony tail and beard. He was lounging on a bio bed in dark jeans and a grey woollen jumper reading a PaDD. He glanced up at the doorway as it opened and rolled his eyes before returning to his PaDD. “Are you near death or bleeding profusely?” He asked

Eulailia walked over and stood by the bio bed, “Before I answer your question, I would like to know who I am talking to.”

Decascos, COO

The man grinned. “Then the answer to both questions is no.” He looked up from his PaDD, “If you were you wouldn’t be stopping to ask who I was you’d be asking for help.” He smiled and gave Eulailia a quick evaluative glance from head to toe and back again, tricorder like.

“Alex Ryley, for now chief sawbones, at least till I die or they find someone better to replace me.” He sat up still looking at her, his head tilted to one side, “Does sickbay make you anxious?”
