With meditative and precise motions, Shara wrapped the tape around her hands, securing it firmly but to too tight. She dropped the roll of tape onto the bench and then moved over to the mat with the kick bag. Shorts, a t-shirt and trainers on, Shara was here for a workout and a bit of stress relief. In this case, it meant beating the crap out of something. The holosuite was set up for an open training time, so the program was a basic gym one where people could use the machines and weights, or use the extensive mats for other exercise.
Bouncing on her toes and shaking out the tension in her legs and shoulders, she struck out with a solid punch. It moved the bag only a little but she wasn’t aiming for damage, just precision. Eyes laser focused, she still maintained her awareness of any people who might join her. A side kick made the bag move more and she smiled and she rolled her shoulders, feeling the stress slowly seep out.

A few minutes later the doors to the holodeck swished open and the red-headed First Officer walked onto the holodeck as well. Unlike Calloway, Enai wasn’t dressed in usual gym clothes. Instead she was wearing white dancing tights; a black, sleeveless leotard, a black ballet skirt and pink ballet slippers. And in her hand she carried a water bottle and a small back. Spotting Shara, and not wanting to interrupt or distract her, she greeted her with a warm smile and a slight nod of the head before heading towards the stretch of wall that had a ballet bar and mirror attached to it. Putting her bag and the water bottle onto the floor, she positioned herself in the middle of the bar, facing the mirror and started to do her warm- up exercises.

Calloway didn’t miss the entrance of the XO, and while she didn’t ignore her, she also didn’t intentional draw attention to Enai, knowing that command staff had an awkward habit of being avoided by the juniors. Shara couldn’t care less what rank a person was and judged them on their actions. A person’s position and rank didn’t intimidate her. Thus, she gave Siadra a nod of her own and went back to punching at the bag. After getting into a rhythm, she rocked back and struck out with her foot, the sole of her shoes slamming with a thud. Somehow she found herself amused by the contrast her her beating the crap out of the bag and Enai being all graceful and stuff. But Shara felt this was a clear way for her to shed at least some of the stress, even though buried deeper was a severe sense of overwhelm. Luckily for her and everyone, she was too skilled to let it overtake her.

Bump
The soft smile on Siadra’s face widened a little as she let her gaze wander through the holographic gym while she was doing her warm-up exercises. Tendus. Pliés. Jetés. Ronds de jambe à terre. And the like. Things she could do in her sleep and thus enabled her to people watch a little. Though of course she tried not to stare at anyone. The last thing she wanted to do was make people feel uncomfortable and be known as the creepy first officer who stares at people while they exercised. After all, junior officers tended to be already rather nervous around the command staff. No need to add to that. Though hopefully mingling in this way might make some of them feel more at ease.
Once she felt like her muscles were sufficiently warmed-up to avoid injuries, Siadra flopped semi-gracefully onto the floor and reached for her small back with one hand, while pulling off her ballet slippers with the other. After massaging her feet for a brief moment, she put her point shoes on instead. Rising to her feet she continued with some point work for a few more minutes. Though while that was usually the point when she blocked out her environment completely and focused only on her own body and the music she listed to through the tiny earbuds, today she found herself drifting out of focus again and again. To the point that she started doing things in the wrong order. With a soft sigh she turned her back towards the mirror and rested her forearms on the ballet bar behind her. She allowed her gaze to become soft, unfocused and did one of the many grounding exercises in her repertoire. Not noticing that she was pretty much staring right at Shara while the latter was throwing some impressive punches and kicks at the punching bag.

Shara worked out like it was life and death, a circumstance that was prompted by reality. So much of her experiences had been life or death. She could remember what it was like to live in a state of semi-contentment, but it was so long ago, and she was a very different person. And while Enai’s attention wasn’t fixed on her, she immediately noticed the lack of focus. Throwing a couple more punches, and exhaling out the last bit of restrained frustration , she brushed away loose strands of her brown hair and moved around the bag, stepping lightly. Despite her aggression, Calloway was exceptionally light on her feet.
She stopped a couple feet from Enai and smirked. “I amusing myself with my husband’s reaction to the idea of me dressing as a ballet dancer. I’ve had to fake being a dance performer in my days but it was definitely not ballet,” she said with a wink.

It took Siadra a moment or two to return to the here and now. Blinking once or twice, a soft, slightly lopsided smile spread across her face. “I’m sure you would look good dressing like a ballet dancer,” she mused. Tilting her head slightly to the side, she added, “What kind of dance performer did you pretend to be?”

The foggy blue of Shara’s eyes sparkled as if sunlight had just broken through them. “Here? Now?” She threw a hand to her chest in feigned mortification. “Why, I never said it was for public discussion!” Yes, she was entirely teasing and Enai would know that. In fact, Shara was deeply amused by the whole thing. “As I told my husband and daughter, that, especially on the job, what happens on Risa, stays on Risa.” She winked again.
