Sara walked down the halls of her ship, surveying it, taking it all in. Staff along the way recognized and greeted her as the Captain. There were certainly worse days in her past. She drifted down the decks to engineering, deciding to check on the new Chief while she was there. People were busy, not an unwelcome sight. She stopped an ensign. “Excuse me.”
“Oh. Oh Captain. Good afternoon ma’am.” He stood extremely tensely, awaiting approval.
“At ease ensign.”
“How can we be of service today?”
“Take me to the Chief.”
“Aye ma’am.”

Sara was led to the new CE, who she greeted “Good afternoon Lieutenant.”
