Paddy thought for a moment, he had heard small rumblings among the crew about the anomaly, hell, he had to admit to himself that he was almost jealous that he wasn’t able to witness such feats by the Engineers. He chuckled lightheartedly and said, “Put it this way ma’am, it’ll be a mission to remember so it will,” McMillan couldn’t help but notice his Derry accent starting to creep out more and more in general conversation.

-Lieutenant Patrick McMillan: Counsellor-

“No, we won’t,” Siadra nodded. “That is for sure. It also made for a much more … intense start into my first assignment as First Officer than I would have imagined.” A soft sigh escaped her lips and she shook her head a little.

“Really?” Paddy cocked an eyebrow, “Did you have an ideal image for your first mission?”

-Lieutenant Patrick McMillan: Counsellor-

Siadra shook her head. “No, I didn’t. I did have an idea of how I’d arrive on the ship. Much the same way as I have on any of my previous assignments. I certainly didn’t see myself going on what might have been a suicide mission since we didn’t even know if the ship had survived let alone if the runabout would. It was also the reason why I hesitated to take on this position. My daughter already lost her other parent as my wife died shortly before her birth. I don’t want her to lose me as well,” Siadra replied emphatically.

Paddy took a small sip of coffee and replied, ‘I’m sorry for your loss Commander, how is your daughter doing?’

-Lieutenant Patrick McMillan: Counsellor-

Siadra took a moment or two to think about that question how to answer it. With concern playing across her pale features, she replied, “Liara doesn’t like change very much. So leaving the Four Winds, the only home she remembers, has been difficult for her. It will take a while for her to settle in and feel comfortable, but I’m confident that she will be able to and that she’ll be happy here. It helps a great deal that Lieutenant Si’Rek is here. He and my wife Kialeni had been friends before Leni and I met. Even when I was at my worst after her death and pushed everyone away, he managed not to take it personal and kept reaching out to me. I had no idea that he had just been assigned to the Asimov as well. He also did everything he could to be a part of Liara’s life. Sending her messages and gifts and a few times we met in person. Liara loves him dearly. She is with him now, exploring Engineering. She is so much like Leni in that way.” Feeling tears well up in her eyes, Siadra took a deep breath and looked away as she acknowledged in her mind what she was feeling and then let those emotions pass.
