”..Morning Lieutenant..” Billy Bob said. “..Looks like we came across a lone shuttle..” He informed her. “..Get me a scan of its condition would you?” the NLt Commander asked.

Izzin nearly jumped out of his skin when the hail came through, causing Codem, Peter, and Alera to laugh. “Looks like we got one. S’Dan, open the channel.”

“We are the Federation shuttle Chiapan from the USS Montezuma” our ship was disabled by an unknown assailant and we are looking to acquire aid for our ship.” Codem said, standing up to make himself look somewhat important.

NLt Commander Billy Bob stood up straighter, this was it, though minor, it was HIS time to shine! =/\= This is NLt Commander Billy Bob! Of the USS Ark Angel. We’re ready to receive you in shuttlebay 1..=/\= He said nodding to the security NE Fredrickson to cue the NE’s down in the bay to get ready. =/\= While we wait for your landing what can you tell us about your unknown assailants? The more information we have the better prepared we can get! =/\= He said, mouthing to the NE at the science station ‘Begin scans for any trouble’. To which NE Fran began to do so.

The scans would show that the shuttle was, indeed, federation in origin, and was damaged by some sort of ion storm–or something similar in nature.

“If I knew much about them I’d be able to tell you. All we know is that they decloaked behind us, or so we assume, fired, and recloaked before taking off.” They had carefully worked out the details, using as much real information as possible to allow S’Dan to keep the story up.

=/\= Understood, was your ship destroyed with all hands? Or what?=/\= he asked.

Codem glanced at Alera and Peter, with a look on his face that spoke of surprise at the ‘or what’ in the other man’s response.

“No. They’re adrift. No engine power, on back up power for life support and similar systems.” He said firmly.

The Vulcan quietly piloted the shuttle towards the shuttlebay, relying on Izzin’s help to keep her stable.

Once the shuttle was in range the NE’s in the shuttlebay tractored it in to bay 1 to dock.

As the shuttle was being brought into the bay NLt Commander Billy Bob decided his time in the light was at an end. Time now to alert the Captain and XO. =/\= NLt Commander Bob to Fleet Captain Andone and Lt Commander Starr. We just picked up a shuttle separated from its parent craft. The 5 survivors report they were attacked by an unknown cloak capable force which left the parent craft, the USS Montezuma adrift somewhere ahead of us. Your orders? =/\= He asked.

A moment later Drudoc’s voice came back over the comm =/\= Andone to Bob, secure the shuttle, then have a security and engineering team report to the bay. Then take the ship to yellow alert and begin scans for any enemy ships or anomalies..=/\= Drudoc said.

=/\= Already on the scans ma’am. I’ll get the teams moving…=/\= Bob said ending the comm call.

Turning to Ltjg Mazhari Allendor he said, “..Probably would be best for you to get a team together and meet the security team in Bay 1. We’ll keep an eye out on scans for any enemy ships..” He stated.

Once Mazhari was on her way he pressed a comm button =/\= Attention all hands yellow alert, security team report to Shuttlebay 1 =/\= he said.

IC: As the shuttle touched down, Codem held up a hand for nobody to move. “Remember, the Montezuma was attacked. S’Dan, if you aren’t comfortable with staying with that whole story, you know the issues it’s facing better than any of us here, keep using those if you need to.”

A security team gathered in the shuttlebay, they were armed, but none had weapons drawn, waiting to see what the occupants of the shuttle would do.

Scans on the bridge showed no sign of an enemy ship anywhere within range, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t there. Some races had very sophisticated cloaking technology that could render them virtually undetectable by sensors and scanners.

V’Lath nervously stood with the security team eyeing the shuttle, he had barely had time to report aboard when the team was called away to the shuttle bay. All though it was a Federation shuttle apparently there was some doubt as to the identity of the occupants. His Vulcan senses didn’t register anything strange, but one never knew. They would just have to remain alert and ready when the shuttle doors opened.
