USS Ark Angel

Side Sim - Ready Room - Calling Eve

Posted by Fleet Captain Drudoc Andone (Commanding Officer) in Side Sim - Ready Room - Calling Eve
It was about 8 hours after Jaberwock had left the ship and the Ark Angel was on its way back to Starbase 243. Drudoc had filed her reports on their mission progress, and decided to turn her attention to the one sort of black mark of the mission. She would of course equally call Kala about her role in things but first she wanted to get the android’s view. =/\= Andone to Lt Eve, report to my ready room immediately..=/\= She said.

Drudoc Andone CO

Abandoned - adjective meaning forsaken or deserted.

Eve had experienced abandonment three times in her historical existence. The first time had been on Osira VI when her creator, Malcolm, had reached his own termination date and broken his promise to also bring about hers. The second had been on the USS Draco when Borg Captain Alley had tempted Eve with the promise of development and technological advancement beyond anything her databanks could predict, then watched on silently as she was dragged back to the ship by her human crewmates. The third was a memory she had refused to revisit in the interceding years, that of her captain and lover, Hayden West, unquestioning as she climbed into an escape pod, unfeeling as she was launched out into the cold, lonely blackness of unoccupied space.

Each incident had caused a corrosion of Eve’s socialisation routine, the code that had been written to enable easy conversation, welcoming interactions and genuine friendships was becoming corrupted, line by line, into a program that instead dictated solitude, isolation and individual protection. And yet while each of these events had represented a level one defect in the android’s progression, to be abandoned by her own child was a catastrophic overload.

And so, as Eve entered the office of the Ark Angel’s Captain in response to her summons, Drudoc might immediately notice the change in her synthetic demeanour. Gone was the illusion of emotion and personality, to be replaced by the very definition of an unthinking, unfeeling hunk of metal and conduits.

“Lt Eve reporting as ordered, Ma’am,” the words arrived on a monotone, androgynous vocalisation.
