[snip]“So, welcome aboard the Ark Angel,” he said with a warm smile in a southern British accent that suggested he grew up on a farm in the Southwest of England. His black hair was kept to the right and had a look of always being slightly wet. “I’m sure you’ve done your research, I’m Lieutenant Commander Simon Starr,” he introduced himself officially, the voice the one that came through the comm badge mere minutes ago. “How have you found it so far?” he asked. He knew this was Kala’s first assignment, and also the Eve model being recommissioned as a result of the ban being lifted. He was still young when the Mars attack happened, so all he knew about it was in the Academy. His brother was in Star Fleet back then and was involved in the response fleet to the Mars attack , but it was about 5 years later when he went missing. Another 5 years and Simon would follow in his brother’s original footsteps, but as a security officer rather than an engineer. He had read her technical schematics and was really looking forward to seeing what the new model was going to be capable of. When he first saw her, he couldn’t quite believe it was actually an android.
Lieutenant Commander Simon Starr, XO
OOC: Just fyi the ban isnt lifted yet in STF time for another 3 years, Drudoc just put her neck on the line for Eve to get her aboard the ship and give her purpose
Kala forever the first to talk smiled at the Lieutenant Commander in front of her he was young and handsome so it wasn’t hard too look at him. “Well so far its been pretty much landing on two feet and running at warp speed but I like it that way,” She shrugged nonchalantly before adding, “I’m looking forward to going on my first away mission though a little apprehensive considering the circumstances. I just hope I can be of help, sir.” She said looking between both Kala and Eve who was to her side making sure she felt included in their small talk while they waited for the other officers. Kala gave her self a small victory point for reporting their first… it was the little things in life.

“I am not capable of achieving warp speed, Sir,” Eve replied in a revelation of her constant struggle to separate fact from metaphor, despite having consumed exactly five thousand, four hundred and seventy-two fictional narratives, so far, to aid in the matter. “But I too hope to be…of help on this mission.”
About this time Lt. Frogue entered with his away team gear. “Are we ready to go yet?”
Frogue
Kala whos excitement was slowly and surely being replaced with anxiety as the prospect of their departure nearing ever more washed all other thoughts away from her mind, she had no idea what to expect and the brief given to her would only prepare the young trill scientist for so much. Looking around at the group assembled she tried to pull on their presence to calm herself down, which only marginally helped. ‘You can do this girl, you’ve got this’ She thought to herself reassuringly.
Simon looked and noted there was one more to come. “We’re just waiting on Miz’uki and we’ll be heading down,” he said briefly, waiting for the full team to arrive before getting ready for the mission. He tapped his commbadge

Configuring her frame once more into its ‘ready’ stance, the android began to power down her analytical routines and prepare for the experience of transportation. Unlike biological entities, for whom the dematerialisation and transmission process appeared to occur unconsciously, Eve regained some measure of awareness throughout. It was not a frightening or physically painful experience, and yet something about existing in that inbetween state of quantum variance made her feel utterly alone. Like being back on Osira VI.

A couple moments later Miz’uki walked in leading Eve along with her “Engineering team is Ready Commander Starr” she purred “Now just need that Scientist the CSO pur-omised me After all we Will need to know weather or not that Core is Stable!” she was wearing one of the Wearable tricorders instead of having the Standard Issue hand unit on her belt and she had a Tool Kit bag slung over her shoulder

With everyone present the transporter chief looked everyone over. “..Is everyone here? If not I’ll beam them over in a second wave of NEs..” He asked.
Once given the go ahead he began the transport cycle. “..I’ll be putting you all down on deck 32 its as close as I can get you to their singularity core I’m showing some odd readings there but nothing clear yet. You’ll need to get down to deck 36 to access the core proper..” He said. “..Questions?” he asked.

Kala’s stomach swelled with anxiety as the transporter chief explained the plan and then asked for questions, she shook her head left and right before equity saying “No Questions sir.” She followed the lead of the others and moved onto the pad her hands gripping onto the science bag she had prepared her palms sweating despite the fact their was no heat to cause it.

Simon nodded, letting the transporter chief explain where they will be setting down. “Any other life signatures near that area, chief?” he asked, just in case there was need for emergency evacuation before leaving themselves.
Lieutenant Commander Simon Starr, XO
The NE checked, “..Hard to say sir, there’s a low level EM surge near the beam in site. Might be one or two people though to meet you..” He replied.

Lt. Frogue stood next to his Jr. Science Officer and clearly exhibited signs that they were ready to go. “I think science has all its equipment and is ready to proceed on mission” said Frogue.

Mazi had come in with the Engineering Chief, and Eve, and was at the Caitian’s back with a new wearable tricorder and a more extensive tool box in her hand with her personal kit slung over her shoulder. The young half Andorian’s antennae were flickering in nervous curiosity. It was her first mission with this crew and, naturally, she was sizing them up to see who would need assistance if things went sideways, and would be competent enough to look after themselves.
Lt JG Mazhari Allendor
EngineerAs the various questions were asked, Simon made sure to make a note of them and what information was available. The truth was that there wasn’t that much information to give the crew. When the beam down site was confirmed Simon took his position and waited for everybody to be ready for the transport.
Once everybody was on the transporter pad, Simon looked towards the transporter operator and commanded “energize,” as he waited for the now familiar blue curtain of light he had gotten used to in the process.
Lieutenant Commander Simon Starr, XO
With a hum the transporter took effect, and what seemed a second later the team was in a lit transporter room, where sure enough a power surge had sparked out some of the lightening and primary power conduits. A nearby console flickered and scrolled warning statuses that use of the station’s transporter on organic matter, would be dangerous in current state of power flux. A single door leading to the corridor was also present, muffled arguing voices on the other side faintly heard.

The moment Miz’uki materialized she bent over and began to double-check the straps on her Leg Guards being Caitian she did not wear standard-issue boots or even pants instead uniform wise she had a skirt and the Leg Guards specifically designed to protect Caitian Digitigrade legs her tail stood upright and seemed to swivel about almost like a submarine periscope looking for danger though it obviously would not actually sense any danger it was just how Caitians were
Miz’uki
Looking around, it was obvious there were problems, and the fact was this transporter would be too dangerous to use in the current situation, and with the EM radiation, he also knew that a lock in the transporter room back on the Ark Angel would be very difficult, if not impossible. “Well, let’s get to work. I’ll go and find somebody to inform we’re here, Miz’uki, you and your team start looking at what is causing this power drain. Lilliana, keep them safe. Tim, with me,” he said. It would be good to have a scientific mind with him when speaking to the crew of the station. When he had given the orders, he looked around for any station crew who he should let know they have arrived.
Lieutenant Commander Simon Starr, XO
“Yes, Sir.” The engineer said with everyone else to the command given.
While the Chief Engineer was checking her leg guards, Mazi moved to the transporter console and tried to pull up the maintenance and warning logs to see what was wrong and when it had occurred. If she could find the catalyst for what, on first appearance, seemed a possible cascade scenario, she could try and either stop the failures, so more didn’t occur, or find the cause and start repairing things.

Re-materialisation concluded, Eve had allowed herself 1.267 seconds to run an internal diagnostic and confirm that none of her systems had been damaged in the transport. It was a standard procedure that she performed after every period spent in a confinement beam. However, as she prepared to step off the transporter pad her visual assessment of their surroundings alerted her to the console warning on the station’s transporter. The android promptly activated her tricorder and began running similar diagnostics on the organic members of the away team.
As she moved from one person to the next, tricorder held aloft, she offered by way of explanation, “I am attempting to ascertain that everybody made it down in one piece.”
