The door opened and Miz’uki walked in “H..Hello Counselor I…I am here for that Appointment I asked for…” she said clearly nervous about what she was getting herself into as far as dealing with her fear of insects she sat down in one of the chairs “As you probably know from my file…I have Entomophobia I have been dealing with it since I was a kitten however most of my counselors in the past simply said it should go away on its own…so yeah…” she said simply

“Lieutenant Miz’uki.” Guy simply said as he read the PaDD in front of the Caitian “I know what you have, and indeed the Captain informed me about the problem related to what happened in the Cargo Bay some time ago. Funny enough, that day I was kinda busy in my office and did not received your visit.” He scrutinized Miz’uki’s eyes.

As he came across the room and got near the replicator, the Lieutenant hesitated a bit before ordering something to sip, some good old cold orange juice with a slice of orange served in a crystal glass and just before he could leave, he, as his usual, asked if she was up to something to drink or eat “May I serve you something? It may take much longer than we both can imagine.”

“Ummm no thank you…not right now” she said clearly nervous about what they would need to do “And to be honest after that initial incident in the cargo bay i went back to my quarters and tried dealing with my problem as i have in the past… ” she added

Miz’uki

“Alright then.” He returned to his place “Let’s start then.” As he took his notepad and crossed his legs, the pen started shifting everywhere on the ol’ paper. He looked right away at the Lieutenant’s fur and stopped writing “So, let’s start from the start. Do you perhaps remember when it initially started this kind of fear?” He sipped some juice between a word and another.

she took a very deep breath and seemed to be trying to psych herself up “I was 3 still just a very young kitten at the time…the clan was having a picnic in the plains they would get together with their rival clan for a day of games and competition as well as food and celebration they were rivals but it was more of a friendly rivalry anyway…I wondered off and accidentally fell into a Treezack hive They…they swarmed all over me stinging me I cried out luckily one of the elders had come looking for me when she noticed i was gone…she saved me or at least that’s the story the clan tells I don’t remember any of it…i was too young to really remember i thought…but everytime i see some form of insectorid life…well you got the report of what tends to happen” she sighed

Guy wrote stuff on the notebook before reading everything again and spoke once again “since then, how stuff went going? Did you had constant problems with this… phobia?” He asked as he sipped again another quarter of orange juice. The situation seemed pretty normal at that time: some forensic studies, have highlighted that phobias connected with events happened as youngster was the main cause of the phobia. It was not the first time that Guy faced this kind of problem in his patients, but as he always knew, it was something hard to get around and he didn’t knew if he could help the poor Lieutenant.
“If you need some water, just ask. You know I am a jerk but I won’t bite for some water.”

“Yes initially as i grew up i was afraid to go outside or go anywhere that insects might be My parents took me to a counselor and I was able to manage it mostly any time we were out in the plains or forests I usually stayed around the adults and the insect repellers that my clan would set up but any time i saw an insect of any kind i would freeze and not be able to breath…just a general freakout! I thought maybe I could enter Starfleet work on starships and not run into any more insects but…now that seems like i was just fooling myself” she sighed sadly

“Well the contract explicitly tells that joining starfleet you might get encounters with alien species and-..” he stopped realizing that it could go into something harsh “and… uhm. I think in part your decision of joining Starfleet was taken with some sort of sense.” He stared at her for a split second or two before resuming “Well… Miz’uki, you see, it does not matter where you go. Insects will be everywhere so it was a good idea to come to me.” He paused “but if we want to work it,” Guy pressed the notebook on the table in front “we need to go through the problem and try dealing directly with insects. This means… trying to get acquainted with insects. We have live insects onboard and I want you and I to go to the labs to see and know some of them.” From a moment or another, the Counselor was to expect some sort of desperate look of Ms. Miz’uki or at least some contrary thought.

“Don’t think we’ll go there straight. We need first to talk here about what insects are and why you should not be afraid of them. After we talked about how actually amazing they are and how they can contribute to the world’s cycle, we will be going to see some of them and I want you to actually try interacting with them. All clear?” He questioned the officer.
