Lilliana finished her food and laughed with Kala. “Those fish are insane. I’m doing my best to stay off of whatever list she keeps. As far as girly movie nights and operations, I’m sure we can work something out. I am security after all.” Lilliana smirked.

“Maybe we can use the bridge’s viewscreen as a giant movie screen,” Kala said with a large Cheshire grin, she had now finished her food and was looking out around the mess hall which had started to thin out indicating it was soon for her to leave too. “Urgh, I hate this part of the day. Gamma shift sucks, I can’t wait for the rota to change and for me to get a decent working hour. I’m gonna have to go rather soon” She said apologetically.

Lilliana looked at Kala. “Well, that’s lucky! At least it looks like we’re on the same shift. I wonder if they give gamma to all the new kids.” Lilliana laughed. “At least we can get together between shifts this way. Once the shifts change, who knows what will happen.” Lilliana finished her drink and put her dishes up. Walking back to the table, her comm badge chirped and the XO’s voice called out demanding security report to the Security Office immediately for a briefing. Lilliana looked to Kala. “I guess my shift’s going to start a little early tonight… Sorry. Find me after shift some time and we can check out the holodeck or something?” Lilliana nodded briefly. “Ok. I gotta go. I can’t be the last one there. Have a great shift!” Lilliana called out as she hurried out of the mess hall toward the lift.

Kala waved a quick goodbye and followed Lilliana’s steps as she removed her plates and recycled them before tidying up the remainder of the table by tucking in her chair and brushing away any crumbs. Happy she turned and left the room, if Lilliana was starting early Kala had no reason to delay her own shift so headed towards the science labs.
