Lilliana had officially completed her onboarding physical, mental evaluation, and checked in with her department head. The last item on her list? Meeting the Captain. Now, Lilliana had met Captains and other officers at the Academy, but well, they weren’t “Her” Captain…of her first assignment…ever…with the power to make or break her entire career. Lilliana stood outside of the Ready Room doors and rubbed sweaty palms on her uniform slacks before pressing the chime. She waited until she was permitted to enter and then walked into the center of the room, snapped to attention, and reported sharply.

“Ensign Lilliana Harmon, reporting for duty from the Academy for the post of Assistant Security Officer, Ma’am.”

Lilliana stood sharply at attention, eyes looking at nothing in particular in a comfortable and familiar thousand-yard stare, attempting to hide her nerves as she waited to be acknowledged.
