“Shedding?” Eve replied. A most curious choice of verb to apply to a chief engineer. But this was no human chief engineer. Lieutenant Miz’uki would represent the android’s first ever personal encounter with a Caitian. She wondered, briefly, if she should have brought an introductory gift with her. Taking the gel packs from Sathi, Eve stored them securely in a large pouch on her tool-belt, then began to climb gracefully into the tube. At the last moment, she paused and turned back to the retreating Andorian.
“Pirates? I have read about them in Peter Pan. How…exciting.”

And with that, Eve disappeared wholly into the tube. After a few moments of shuffling, she successfully located the engineering chief.

“Lieutenant Miz’uki,” Eve called out. “I am Eve. I am your new engineer. I have brought gel packs.”
