Up closer now Vronclon could see she wore a band of marriage around her wrist, it was an intricate golden-silver toned band not much more then a 1/4th an inch in width but Romulan script intricately carved could be made out though not read without it being likely closer. So likely either the Captain was or had been married at some point in her life.
