It has been a long day of in processing and all he wanted to do was go back to his quarters, have a few Ale’s and pass out but he wasn’t done yet. He had one more stop to go and that was to check into his new bosses office and introduce himself. The Star Empire had a much better in processing system then the Federation. He smiled at that. Finally he smiled and didn’t have to fake it.

Once he entered the security area he found the office door which was ready for him to do, not only because you can have the computer show you the way, but because before Starfleet in the Tal Shiar, he already memorized the schematics for this ship’s class and knew his way around.

He reached up and pressed the chime to announce that he was here.

Arthur jumped a little, briefly reaching for the sheathed knife on his desk, before looking at the image on his desk terminal. He saw the pointed ears and immediately remembered he was getting a new officer. Excellent.

“Come!” He called, slipping the knife down to rest on his lap.

“Welcome Ensign,” Arthur decided to not attempt to say the man’s name, as he wasn’t very good with Romulan surnames. “Can I get you something from the replicator? It makes decent coffee, can’t say anything about Bloodwine or the Ale.” As he stood up, Arthur slipped his knife into the sheath on the back of his belt, and one of the first things that would be noticed is the very Klingon-like demeanor Arthur had, as well as the House of Ruk emblem on the cross guard of his knife.

Hearing the words he came in and reported. “Ensign Vronclon s’Viaen reporting for duty sir.”

He listened and nodded. “A coffee would be good to get the ole blood a pumping. ”

Vronclon was very astute and noticed the knife and House emblem. This was a curious thing he mused to himself. “Pardon me for asking but I noticed your knife and it appears to have the House Ruk on it. How did you manage to come by such an item?” The interrogator in him was staring to come out but at a very low level since he was now Starfleet and humans liked to be treated kindly.

“What, this old thing?” Arthur asked, pulling the Dk’Tagh warrior’s knife from the sheath, allowing the folding side blades to swing out. “I was adopted me as a child into a Klingon family. And I’m a warrior, so I carry it. It’s easier to conceal than a Bat’leth.”

“Fascinating.” He mused. “Truly fascinating. I would like to know more later if you are up to it?”

After the coffee replicated he put it down on the desk and gestured for Vronclon to have a seat. “Tell me a bit about you.”

Vronclon took the coffee and sat. After hearing the question he sipped his coffee for a bit longer before answering. “I was a security officer in the Star Empire for many years. I was a Sub Lieutenant before I was transferred to the Tal Shair where I held the rank of Major.”

He went distant for a bit starring st nothing and holding his coffee in both hands took some more sips before continuing. “All that changed a few years ago when my home world was destroyed and I lost everything. And I mean everything and everyone.”

He took a couple more sips. “The Empire was in disarray and shattered. I was on the Warbird T’Met at that time. Commander Almax is a great leader. He held us together and helped rebuild the empire. One day I saw a post about an Officer exchange program and since I didn’t have anything left, I took it and now I’m here. Will
Is there anything else you would like to know....sir?” He took some more sips and waited, staring straight into the CoS eyes.

“I’ve heard about the destruction of your world. As much as Klingons hate to admit it, you made great adversaries and we cannot wait until we can meet again on the field of battle.” Arthur said, sounding very much Klingon.

Vronclon lowered his head and frowned before raising his head back up with a slight tear forming in his right eye.

“Is there anything you’d like to know from me?”

Arthur Jones, Son of Ruk

“Yes. Why wish war? I’ve done missions to Klingons and on Klingon. I know I’ve killed more People than you and more Klingons as well as a slew of other races. I’ve also been present in matters of diplomacy and new beginnings....Sir. I do understand where you are coming from and not only appreciate but know the sincerity in what you have just said. But I prefer peace. Commander Almax once told me that a smart man knows what to say. But a wise one knows when to say it. You are taught not that well in that area. I suggest brushing up on it or you’ll find that one day you might make the same choice as the XO did from your bio.”

He stood up and downed the rest of the coffee and placed the cup gently on his bosses desk. “Thank you for the coffee. May I be excused if you don’t have anything further to tell me....Sir?”
