It had been a year since Simon last stood outside the counsellor’s doors for a review. It was a strange experience as he never did go in the office, instead he was directed to the then XO’s office and had his review done via subspce. As a result, this was the first face-to-face review he had since the academy. He had been informed the Ark Angel had found a new counsellor, so thought it would be good to introduce himself, and as his review was due soon, to kill two birds with one stone and get that done while he was there. He pressed the chime to the counselor’s door.

Guy wasn’t all that well that day. A febrile High Temperatures was killing his will to live and indeed he requested that checks were postponed until he felt better. But the XO appointment? He preferred not jumping over it as he needed to show that he was “taking care” of his new position well and with all necessary attentions.

Covered with a light blue wool sweater, he was sipping some tea and taking medicine pills when the bell chimed “The XO? Yeah it is almost time.” He said to himself “Come In!” He groaned rubbing his forehead.
