Catt was disturbed. There was no other way to discribe her state of mind. A brand new ship she was unfmiliar with as yet and her encou ter with the Councilor which she had fled from because the man man scared the living daylights out of her . She had felt like she had back on McHenries World and food had run short. As the only non-human left alive she had quickly learned she was on the menu if they caught her. She wasn’t sure if her memories were true or if malnutrican, illness and constant fear had made her paranoid. But she had fled, hidden and survived. That man had brought her back to all that just by Feeling so off. He was the councilor. Who could she go to about this? Was she the one who was being irrational. After walking the corridors feeling sorry for herself she felt she had no choice.
.
“Computer? Where is the ships Executive Officer?”, The XO was in charge of discipline on a ship. He could sort this out. If the problem was the CNS or if it was Catt herself at least it would be resolved. The computer directed her to the XO’s location and Catt quickly headed that direction.Ensign Catt Bennet. Sciences.
The computer responded to Catt’s request in it’s usual monotone voice “The Executive Officer is currently located in his quarters on deck 3,”
When Catt arrived and pressed the chime, a familiar southern British voice came from the other side. “Come in,” the voice said.
Lieutenant Simon Starr, XO
Catt was surprised that the XO’s voice sounded familiar. She hadn’t expected to know anyone on the ship. She had of course checked to see if the one person she knew of that had been assigned to the Ark Angel was still on board but had been disapointed to find out that No Simon Starr presently served in security.
So she entered as directed an stopped dead in her tracks as she saw the occupant. What. , how?, she wondered as her jaw dropped to the floor. “Simon?” She squeeked when she recovered benough to talk.
“Are you in trouble? What are you doing here. The computer said there was no Simon Starr in Security… wait Red tunic? You transfered to ops? I thought you were security for life? What are you doing in the XO’s office? You’ll get yourself in trouble. I’ m the screw up not you. What were you thinking?”, and she just blinked at him again amazed to see him. The shock of it completely driving why she was there from her mind.
Ensign Catt Bennet. Science. When Catt stepped in, Simon couldn’t hold back the shock. He had heard of the transfer, and read that she was being assigned to the ark angel, but didn’t expert to see her so quickly. He had only just received the message from the counsellor that she was cleared for duty. “Catt!” he couldn’t help but say with a hint of surprise, “I mean, Ensign,” he said quickly brushing his red uniform off. “Well, first off. I’m not in trouble. Second off, I’m no longer in security. I was Chief of Security until recently, however. Wait…” he said as the excitement is suddenly replaced by a look of fatigue. “Wow, it’s been busy… so… I think I’ll let the computer make the announcement, Computer, identify position of Lieutenant Simon Starr aboard the Ark Angel,” he said out loud, with an awkard pause.
“The position of Lieutenant Simon Starr is incoming executive officer of the USS Ark Angel NCC-98729,” the monotone response came. Even Simon looked a little shocked at what the computer said, as he still couldn’t quite believe how far he had come since he and Catt were discussing how the counsellor got fresh food on their cadet cruise.
Lieutenant Simon Starr, XO
OOC: fixed your slip you called her Ranlei.
Catt squeeked at the computers anouncment, “Oh! Wow . That is fast. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving person. I bet you have a story to tell about that. But you look tired. We can catch up when your rested. How about we get some lunch tommorrow. I took a cooking class while I was stationed at the agricultural station 6 in the Cait system. Both Caitan and human cuisine so I can cook vegetables now. Oh right you had already left by the time I tried cooking for the Challengers crew. So you wouldn’t know about that fiasco.”, she said in her soft tomes.

OOC: Oops, that’s what looking at discord before posting does to you :P

“I’ll be honest, it does sound weird out loud, doesn’t it,” Simon replied with a smile. “I read about that, and I’m fine - it’s just… you know… when I looked at the latest transfers and saw your file, everything has sort of… caught up to me,” he said with a slight chuckle to accentuate the end of the statement. “And fast is definitely coming to my mind, it’s sort of surprising that it’s happened so quickly. Seeing you in person has just… reminded me of something that has been happening a lot recently,” he replied.
“As to what happened after I left the Academy, we do hear things even out here,” he said with a smile. “I did read about it in your professor’s reports, I heard the Bolians on the crew found it a bit too much,” he said with a chuckle.
“It’ll be nice to catch up off duty at some point and find out what we’ve both been up to, but you obviously came here to talk the the XO about something, I know sitting can be difficult for you if you’d prefer to stand, and if there’s anyway we can make that more comfortable for you do let me know,” he said as he walked over to the replicator.
The room itself hadn’t really been changed much from it’s standard, apart from a picture on the desk of four humans, one a young looking Simon, maybe in his mid-teens, an older boy, and had familial similarities and an older man and woman sitting behind them smiling in a small shuttlecraft, only four seats and all of them having a good time. The only other noticable feature was an old-fashioned cork board, with a picture of the older man in the center and various strings leading off of it, leading to other pinned notes, articles or pictures, all relating to disappearances in England six years ago.
“Anything to drink?” he asked Catt as he reached the replicator.
