Assuming this failure doesn’t turn out to be something life threatening it really shouldn’t take long. “, it wasn’t the sort of engineering she was trained for but she had wanted a ship assignment to become more rounded hadn’t she. She pulled out her tricorder and scanned the grav lift from about 10 feet away. She had always been a bit Paranoid but that Ooze creature had spooked her badly., and her luck was running from bad to worse lately. The Men she liked avoided her. The men she wanted nothing were all over her. Most of the female officers were either openly hostile or trying to be friends. That in itself was unsettling. Hatred she knew how to deal with. The ships children were being friendly. Those children’s parents were not amused. She ran the scan four times as with her mind racing she couldn’t concentrate.

Scans confirmed the Risan Cockroaches were interfering with the electronics of the grav cart there were a lot of them inside infesting the cart’s inner workings.

Before Ranlei could say anything, Miz’uki had the Pannel off. Some of the Roaches that had been sitting comfortably on the access panel, while others were moving about freely inside the machine, the ones on the panel, however, jumped out right into the felines face. There was a shriek of horror, followed by all the angry feline noises as Miz’uki ran from the grav lift, and up a stack of containers. Where, standing on all fours, her back arched, ears laying flat, tail on end and puffed up, the Chief Engineer hissed and spat angerly. “KILL THEM, KILL THEM, KILL THEM, KILL THEM, KILL THEM!!!” she shouted her voice tense with fear.

The CE’s reaction made Ranlei backpedal three steps and drop the tricorder. She groaned internally as she recognized the insects, living as she had on a colony that supplied services to a trade hub Ranlei had seen colonies of these things before. She tapped her commbadge and said, =^=Security. We have a infestation of electronics disrupting insects on board. Be advised and apply intruder countermeasures.=^=, the temptation to stomp on or phaser the bugs was near overwhelming but Ranlei did neither.

To the Ne Ensign she said “Seal the bay put up emergency forcefields if they are in one thing they are in everything in this room and likely every system on the ship. But we will hope we caught them before they spread.”, then turning to the CE she said, “Not sure how the biofilter didn’t catch them mam but this is why you never dock airlock to airlock with anyone.”

”..Aye ma’am, area secured..” said one of the NEs nearby who raised to do so. If further scans were performed no other signs of the roaches were showing up beyond the anti-grav sled.

Meanwhile the roaches inside the sled were trying to burrow away from the ligth from the open panel. The ones that had gotten out were scurrying for cover by nearby shelves. Then Miz’uki would feel something on her lower back and out on her tail. Glancing back and down she would find a smaller of the roaches riding out the frantic movements of its ride on her tail! The little green-silver eyes beady looking up at her in reply.

Miz’uki had not been paying attention to what anyone else was saying she was panicking then she felt the tickle on her tail looking back she saw her dreaded fear “THERE IS ONE ON MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!” she shrieked “GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF, GET IT OFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!” Miz’uki began to roll around on the top of the containers which being empty began to shake about and soon were sent toppling since they were empty they were not a danger to any of the ensigns Miz’uki continued to roll around the floor of the cargo bay out of her mind with fear
