“They’re a type of seafood, delicious if you ask me,” Simon answered while eating one himself. “The bacon accents the flavor so well,” he added. “There are quite a few of us here, and a good thing to. I wasn’t the first officer when this was arranged. It won’t be long before we’ll have another mission, so enjoy yourselves. But in general, how have you found things at the ark angel so far?” he asked. “That’s a question for all of you,” he said to Phillips, Nunn and Furrood, with a curious tone. He wanted to know if anything needed to be done, and social settings was always a place people were more willing to put their hair down. Both of them had joined the crew after him, so he wanted to take this moment to get their views on everything.

Katie’s conversation with Starr had been quickly interrupted by the arrival of the CMO and then the CO. She nibbled at the items on her plate and cheered for the recognized crew as they received their promotions. Soon, she found herself back with a collection of other officers, listening to their new XO speak. She refrained from answering his question for now, curiously looking at the others to hear their answers first. They were directly relevant to her line of work as well and she couldn’t help but feel a bit thrilled that Starr was taking such an interest in the crew’s well-being.

Trax finished his rounds and left the party he felt more alone than ever. As he left the party did not bother the ambassador and the bodyguard as he went back to sickbay to do some minor odd jobs again.
