Drudoc replied. =/\= Understood Lieutenant, we currently ran a check of Shanok’s ship’s logs. There is evidence to suspect he could have harmed or killed 10 other Vulcans that had been sent here with him on the ship a year ago. You and your teams are under orders to proceed with all caution and apprehend Shanok. There is a possibility he is mentally unstable due to a mind meld with one of the grave ooze creatures before his possible harming of the other Vulcans. Do not tip your hand in knowing this though until you are in a strong position to apprehend him. There is no telling what other secrets he may have under his belt. Questions? =/\= Drudoc asked.

He then pulled out his PaDD and searched the Federation database for any records of the Vulcan Shanok, seeing if he could find anything that might explain his odd behaviour.

Link up to the Ark Angel showed Professor Shanok’s ID matching what they had seen of the man before physically. His last psych profile had been just a hair over 6 years ago now done on Vulcan by a Lieutenant La’nar of Starfleet Medical before he and his ship and presumably its crew had come out this far. The notes in the file showed he was in sound mind and body and health as were those among the crew. What could have pushed him to want to attempt a mind meld though with some giant graveyard eating ooze creature much less then kill 10 other Vulcans was anyone’s guess!

Starr heard that they had found something on the ship, which only added to his suspicions. He thought about who they sent with the Archive team, as that was where Shanok was headed. He tapped his comm badge to get in contact with the security team with the operations department.

Over the open comm to Jones Starr could hear a slightly muffled reply that sounded like Shanok. =/\= …The Lawgiver and his servants obviously Lieutenant Phillips. Who else could have built such structures and technology to stand the test of time before their failure. =/\= Was heard.

Simon looked to the counsellor and to Chavez quickly before saying “Counsellor, maybe we should get him in custody before that, based on our current orders. Chavez, your with me, we need to be careful as it sounds like Shanok may not be in his right mind. Set phasers to stun, but try not to use it.” he said. He then turned towards where the operations team went and began running in that direction. As he ran, he tapped his comm badge to respond.

Simon wouldn’t usually say that as he believes as security officers, they should always be on their guard whenever on duty as that’s their job. He just hoped that Arthur would be able to read between the lines, and he continued running to the post, picking up the pace once the communication had been sent.

Not long after their exchange Drudoc’s voice came over the COS’s comm badge =/\= Andone to Lieutenant Starr. We have located three possible sites for the Lawgiver’s fifth scroll. One of which is the Government building the Operations team is located in. Given the evidence so far I want Shanok placed under custody for further questioning and in our brig as soon as possible. Once done Lt Commander Trainor and his team should make every effort to secure any further evidence of the Fifth Scroll for our Gurdian guests. =/\= She said.

Trax and his assistants arrived from the far side of the camp where they were doing there work as they arrived there as he kept quiet during the incoming call.

Unsure what else to do with herself, Katie had hung back and listened as Starr took the situation, thankfully, out of her hands. Her first away team had suddenly gotten a lot more exciting than expected and she fiddled nervously with the phaser strapped to her hip before pulling it out into her hand. Glancing up at Chavez as Starr exchanged communications with Andone, she made a mental note to ask him to take her through a few practice scenarios once they were safely back on board the ship. Her time at the Academy was a very long time ago at this point and that was the last time she had spent any reasonable amount of time with a phaser in her hands. Fortunately, she had spent plenty of time running on the holodeck, though, so keeping pace with the security officers was easy enough as they made their way to Shanok.

Simon nodded, knowing that having the extra backup, no matter how out of practice, was going to help them - numbers could be rather good at getting a point across. He heard his commbadge go off and just gave it a quick tap. =/\=Acknowledged, on our way to Shanok’s location now=/\= he said as he continued making his way to the archive site.

Just as the away team got back together and rounded some corners they came upon the path leading to the Government building where Shanok and the Operations team were with Ensign Jones and the other security members. They were just close enough to overhear an open comm call from the Captain =/\= Transport is currently impossible due to inference from the power generators in the ruin depths, you’ll need to return to the main base camp by Shanok’s tent where the rest of the away team is with the transport enhancers for a beam out. =/\= Drudoc said.

Before more could be said though Shanok interrupted. “..Really Commander I do not understand what you imply when you say I am ‘un-Vulcan like’. I am as green bloodied as any Vulcan alive. But I am quite interested in seeing what is on that hard drive! I am so close to finding the Lawgiver’s truth from my studies can be.....” he paused his eyes glinting with a hint of almost slimey madness for a second before they cooled to normal. “..so enlightening.” He finished.

Shanok stood just within the doorway at the end of the winding rocky path of the Government building. In one hand behind his back was an old 23rd century Type-2 hand phaser, in the other a small barely palm sized box shaped device of unknown origin or type though it did look quite old given its rusty and dusty looking worn nature.

Simon noticed the box and instantly became more cautious. At this moment it could be anything from a transport signal to an explosive, and knew that it was time to act. He gestured for Corvex to take up a cover position to be ready to stun Shanok should the need arise. Simon had one hand close to his phaser, and called out “Alternatively, you can come with us, Shanok. We’ve got some guests who would like to share the experience on the ship and would like to meet you. The Gurdians are waiting to meet you aboard our ship,” he said, “and we would be bad guests if we were to refuse them their history now, wouldn’t we?” he asked as he unholstered his phaser and aimed it toward Shanok, making it clear that he wasn’t asking.
