Shore made his way to his new CE’s office “Looking forward to meeting this guy, he has a good reputation amongst the academy cadets” he said to himself.

Shore walked up to the door after passing everyone with a warming nod and pressed the entry button “Let’s hope this CE accepts me for who I am!” he said under his breath.

• Ensign Shore

one of the NE’s in Main engineering pointed at a pair of feline legs that were sticking out of a Jefferies tube access they were covered in a pair of armored greeves a Feline tail was swishing about, and there was a low rumbling purr

As Shore walked up he would hear the rumbling but still feminine voice come from the tube “Hey Pass me the Hypurrspanner would you” however no hand came out from the tube instead the tail seemed to be reaching out as if wanting Shore to place the tool on the tail

Shore instantly realized his presumptuous mistake, his new CE was no male at all, far from it.

He ducked his head down into the tube “Ensign Shore, reporting for duty” he said, sheepishly balancing the spanner on the tail that greeted him.

He had never met a Caitian in person before, so having to present himself professionally yet intrigued is going to be a challenge he thought to himself.

the tail wrapped tightly around the tool and pulled it inside where she grabbed it with her paw which The Ensign would be able to see her palms and fingertips had the trademark Feline paw pads after she finished what she was doing she slid out of the tube “Sorry about that Ensign I was just making a visual inspection on a couple of relays We can talk more in my Office” she purred walking away towards the Chief Engineers office

Shore followed his new CE to her office, “The tail was rather mesmerizing” he thought to himself.

A memory of his academy days sprung to mind, he read about how fierce and warlike the race was, not to mention the common traits such as intelligence, curiosity, and loyalty, he could already see why she was up the ranks yet still keeping her hands dirty around here.

Trying to strike conversation into the mix Shore spoke up “Looking forward to getting my own hand’s dirty here chief, I see you also like to keep involved, something most can learn from.” he said.

he might notice her fur pattern was a mosaic of brown black white gray Yellow and Orange she walked with a grace that showed all of her tight fit body leading the Ensign into the office she was confident and she clearly also knew her stuff

She chuckled “Oh Don’t worry I will make sure of that But I want to get to know you more first Tell me picture yourself in this situation you need to do a You need to make a pretty in-depth and complicated repair your able to take a short cut because it would simply save time” she started asking as she sat at her desk “Do you go with the short cut?” she asked also motioning to the replicator to let the Ensign know to help himself to whatever he would like to drink she simply sat and waited for his answer

Shore wandered up to the replicator after being motioned towards it, “Altair Water” he said

The drink came into view, he took the glass and took a seat pondering the question.

“Circumstances define action’s” he said to the chief. “Everything I do is based on the situation at hand, if we needed something doing quick for a reason, it would be done, short-cut or not.”

Shore took a sip of his drink and waited in anticipation on the response, he usually has a quick head-on but for some reason, this individual is throwing him off.

“That is an interesting perspective Ensign however I don’t care about the situation at hand There are two ways of doing things in my book The Wrong Way and the Starfleet way I want things done right Quite frankly after my experiences things get done right or they don’t get done at all is that understood” she said sternly but she was still smiling “That is not to say I don’t want ingenuity If you have ideas on how to improve things I want to hear them But I still want things done right because if they are not done right that causes problems for not only us but the rest of the ship and crew” she added

Shore felt a wave of a precision hit him when the CE spoke, direct but understanding.

“Ingenuity is something I like to bring along with me” he said, “Understand the need for the right way, so it will be done.”
