The trip to the site where Shanok believed some sort of archive was present was a bit longer than the drill team. Almost a half hour outside the main dig site the team finally came upon what presumably was an old road way in the middle of the old city where ancient rubble from some kind of earthquake or such buried the indicated archive building. The half unburied entrance which led into the buried building was nearby and would be the first place they would want to look to get the lay of the land underground to what they had to work with.

“Well here we are at the entrance of the building. Let’s see what we got.” Philips said. He noticed the some of the city was pretty ancient. He took out his tricorder and began scanning the area. He saw the archives were not far from where he was, so he headed towards it.

Scans of the area showed the archives indicated were about 40-50ft below him buried by the large building he was in front of. There was a small path he could eventually use to get down there but he would need to first slowly work down the rubble and then move various rocks and such by hand. Scans also indicated a power source of some kind down there made up of some kind of plasma based energy generator that was still working.

“Sir, my tricorder indicates that the archives are about 50 feet below us. If we follow this path (Philips pointed at the path) we should get there soon enough, but we have to be very careful. There was loose rubble every where. I don’t see any other way we can get to the archive. We have to remove all the rubble by hand to proceed.” As Philips started to remove the rubble, his tricorder indicated some kind of power source. “There is what looks like a plasma base generator down there, and it is still functioning.” Philips said.
