Simon heard about some possible legit gambling, and he was curious as to what made it legit, so made his way to the holodeck when the word “Casino” was mentioned. “Computer, who is running the programme currently running in Holodeck one?” he asked. The female monotone voice that the LCARS system came with replied “Ensign Ranlei of Engineering is currently running the programme in Holodeck one.”

Simon thought he’d check this one out himself as he had some spare time on his hands, and it was an officer he had met as soon as she boarded. A few minutes after the request, the holodeck doors opened and Simon came in full security uniform. “Welcome to the Lady Luck, here are ten thousand complementary credits for your enjoyment,” a hostess by the entrance said. “So that’s what it meant by ‘legit’. No actual gambling just simulated,” Simon said to himself. He then took a look around at the various machines, tables, and dabo tables. Walking up to the stage, Simon looked around for Ensign Ranlei, seeing her in the dress, it looked like she was planning on performing “Well Ensign, didn’t mean to disturbt you, but while I’m here, I think I should just go ahead and have some down time, plus I wouldn’t want to miss your performance,” Simon told Ranlei in his southern British farmer like accent. Taking his credits, he took a seat down at one of the Dabo tables.

Ranlei smiled and chuckled, “Came to see if I was pulling a fast one Leftenent? Every thing is on the up and up. Win or lose everyone walks out same as they walk in. I do have a storyline going so there will seem to be a few hijinks going on from time to time. And yes I will be singing soon, dancing later though I can’t indulge in the type of dance peoplexassociate with my Spieces. If the program is popular I will run it semi regularly if it’s allowed. allowed. I am after all A Orion. I have to make a show of being a bad influence while remaining almost perfectly respectable after all.”, she giggled with a smile as she leaned in in the traditioal good luck charm position next to Simon. She spied Dominic and waved to him she hadn’t met him before but as the programmer she knew every character in the casino. It was the live crew that provided the entertainment for her. She snagged a couple of Sybthahol Martini’s and set one before Simon. She would have to discuss bringing in real drinks with the COS at some juncture. One of the first things she had done on coming aboard was to find the ships still that officially didn’t exist and everyone usually turned a blind eye to.

Dominic walked over to Ranlei and Simon to introduce himself since he was rude and didn’t do that when he walked in”Bonjour, I’m Dominic, I’m sure we have yet to meet, I do apologize for not introducing myself sooner, I wanted to get a feel for everything here, see if it actually intrigue me. I will be honest I’ve never gambled in any way shape or form.” He said rather shyly as he had glimpsed at Simon trying to not be rude from staring.

Simon was a rather athletically built human, his shoulders rather broad and large hands. There was a certain roughness about him, one that comes with working outdoors most of their lives. The work on the farm definitely showed in the way he was toned, and as Ranlei placed down the Martini Simon picked it up and raised the glass. “I must say, it’s a rather detailed program you have here Ensign,” he said, just as Dominic walked over. “Ah, the new doctor. Welcome aboard the Ark Angel, doc,” Simon responded with the unmistakable farmer-like southern British accent. “A pleasure, Lieutenant Junio Simon Starr, Chief of Security aboard the Ark Angel,” he said, offering his free hand to shake

Dominic smiled shyly at Simon and shook his hand politely “I do apologize if I was interrupting you two chatting. ” he said as he bit his lip looking around once again seeing the different things happening

Simon saw the nerves in Dominic and as the waitor walked by once again, grabbed a glass of synthahol from the tray, handing to dominic. “Not at all, drink?” he asked, kindly. “And we’re here to relax,” he told dominic. “So, how are you finding the Ark Angel so far, both of you?” he asked the two junior officers currently present.

Dabo cried the Dabo girl at the Dabo table as someones bet won. This was followed by a happy squeel fromthe winning NE and groans from the losers. Dabo was easy to learn but hard to master and high risk. Like backgammon it had a optional multiplier die. The could make a small bet explode into a big payday or could cost the better far more than expected if they lost. But this was a friendly table as it did not use the die. People often needed to learn the basics before graduating to a higher stakes game.

Ranlei smiled and shook the Doctors hand. Welcome to the Ladt Luck Doctor. In no way are you interupting a Casino is more than just a place to gamble. It is a social occasion and a place to be entertained. Iset this one in the 1930’s as that was the Golden age of Casinos on Earth. Of course I added games that people are familiar with so it’s not totally accurate. My true pride and joy is the lounges. “Singing dancing, a broadway show burlesque and Vaudville and broadway all happening at once depending on the lounge you enter. Also the buffet can provide anything available in Explored space that has been programmed into a replicator. ” and Ranlei motioned about her. My focus at the academy was computers and holographic arts. This was my master thesis. I spent four years creating it. Not to shabby for what started as a way to pick up men.” And she laughed and smiled beaming at everyone near.

Dominic smiled listening taking the drink kindly thanking Simon for it and blushed lightly at renlai’s last comment, smiling “this shall be interesting.” He said smiling sheepishly

“Well, being from Earth, I can tell you. The Dabo tables definitely weren’t in those casinos - but it just happens to be one of my favourite ways to let loose,” Simon said, putting down a bet on the next round. “And well, I won’t disagree with that sentiment,” he responded to Ranlei with a shrug of the shoulders and a chuckle.

Dominic smiled has his blush became more prominent “I can’t disagree either we’ll just have to see where we end up. ” he said with a cheeky grin appearing on his face as he looked at Ranlei and Simon.

About this point the holodeck doors opened again and the tall, strong, feminine form of the Romulan Fleet Captain Drudoc Andone entered. She was a striking sight to some perhaps standing at 6‘1 or so in height, her hair normally tied up in twin buns on her head was let down to her shoulders for her time in the holodeck. Her dressing choice was a one piece black raven colored dress. Nothing formal or flashy but form fitting and relaxed.

After a brief chat with the host waiter she moved into the simulation giving a few friendly waves to various folks present. Striding over to where the group of Dabo tables were she took a seat nearby to watch. “..I trust you all won’t mind your Captain watching in? Rumor mill said some action was happening on the holodeck tonight and it’s been a bit since I had a night off to let my hair down and not worry about my daughter running amok..” She said nodding to the NE waiter taking a glass of brown liquid of some sort to sip at it after speaking.

Dominic smiled seeing the captain “I don’t think we have properly met yet captain, I do apologize for that. And I must say, I may not swing that way but man you look amazing. ” he said smiling at his captain after complimenting her.
