With that said, he walked out the doors and went about the rest of his shift before ending up back at his quarters. A shower and a shave later, he dressed himself in a dark blue shirt and soft black pants. Traipsing around barefoot Domingo was preparing the table with plates, silverware, and of course the wine and glasses.

Promptly at 6 pm, the door chime to Chavez’s quarters rang.

“Hang on a second!” An answer came from the intercom. Almost literally a second later the doors parted with Domingo standing before the doorway while still barefoot.

“Hi,” Katie greeted him, a small smile playing across her lips, which were stained slightly pinker by the light makeup she wore. Her brown hair was loose around her shoulders, accentuating the modest but playful v-neck of a simple blue dress that reached to just above her knees and tied neatly at the waist. Her eyes flicked up and down Chavez’s more formal attire with appreciation as she blushed lightly and waited to be invited in.

Domingo was stunned speechless and not sure where to keep his eyes. He settled on looking into Katie’s eyes as he moved forward and wrapped her in a warm embrace. He softly said “Hi” into her neck in reply before taking a step back, taking her by the hand, and leading the way into his quarters.
Upon entering it can be seen that any sort of decor came standard with the arrangement, there were no paintings, pictures, or weird geometrically shaped sculptures. With the sole exception of a photo by the front door of an older Hispanic woman. Everything else came already furnished.
After leading Katie to the table, set simply with a couple candles, Domingo disengaged his hand from hers before pulling back a chair to help her sit.
