So since we’ve had a large influx of new members joining the ship I wanted to post a sim update so everyone is on the same page plus since I got a few pms from people being a little confused on what’s going on.

So first off the overall arch of this sim (possibly series of sims!) is that the Ark Angel is being sent on a deep space mission of exploration to map, survey, and hopefully establish first contact with life deep in the Beta Quadrant far beyond the borders of the Federation. Meaning we’ll be months out of support and contact with Starfleet and the Federation! Exciting right!?

Anyhow for this current sim we are in orbit of UEP-416, a mostly unsurveyed and unexplored planetary system of four planets, three of which are small dead rocky planets though rich in assorted minerals ripe for mining. The fourth planet though is class-M and much to the surprise of the crew currently home to a single Vulcan Archaeologist named Shanok from the Vulcan science directorate who is an expert in the field of The Lawgivers as its known. An ancient now dead race normally found only up till now deep in the Romulan Star Empire’s borders UEP=416 seems home to an outpost of The Lawgivers.

No sooner had the crew gotten in contact with Shanok then they were interrupted by the high warp approach of a Gurdian scout ship and warbird, using old 2360s era retired Romulan ships (scout and d’deridex class types respectively). The Gurdians were up till the Hobus Star incident in 2387 a small servant race of the Star Empire, which broke away successfully after the chaos of the Hobus incident occurred taking with them many older Romulan ships for their own use. With no formal government the Gurdians took up the Lawgiver culture as their own which according to the Lawgivers four scrolls gave rights and rule to the Patricians or upper class of their society while the Plebeians or lower class were a servant class.

The Gurdians on the four person scout ship led by a woman named Lucana believe that the Lawgiver wrote a fifth scroll which would give equal accepted rights to the Plebeians as well. They believe that Shanok can help them locate this scroll hence why they were here. The Patricians though sent the pursuing warbird to stop this group calling them terrorists. When Captain Andone tried to broker a ceasefire to the pursuit and attack so near a Federation civilian the Gurdian warbird Captain opened fire. After a brief ship to ship fight the Gurdian warbird was accidentally destroyed when a errant shot of torpedoes pierced their singularity core.

Beaming aboard the Gurdian scout ship’s crew they informed Captain Andone and her senior staff why they were out here and what they were seeking. After consulting with Starfleet HQ they were granted asylum for now and the Ark Angel were given new orders to assist in locating this Fifth Scroll for the sake of science. Consulting with Shanok he was willing to meet with the Gurdian guests but only once the Ark Angel crew helped him with some badly needed tasks among the ruins of the Lawgivers outpost planetside.

This is where the sim currently is and all crew department heads and JO’s should be planetside in that thread having beamed down, current orders for each department are as follows:

Science - assist Shanok with his dig site and inquire and investigate on leads for the Fifth Scroll
Medical/Counseling - given Shanok a medical and psych eval which he is required to fulfill from orders by HQ due to having been here alone for several years
Engineering/Operations - assist Shanok in fixing up his digging equipment and performing excavation work where requested also help fix up his campsite where possible
Security - keep an eye on our Gurdian guests with Lucana and her three assistants. Help patrol the dig site for any hostile wildlife and setup sonic emitters to keep them at bay
