Sensors showed Shanok was on the planet below among some old ruins of a temple or city site. A moment later Shanok came back on the screen =/\= Ah hello Captain Andone. What can I do for you? =/\= He asked.

=/\= Professor, as you have been informed we have several Gurdian guests aboard who are seeking The Lawgiver’s Fifth Scroll which according to their legends of governance would give the lower class called the Plebeians equal rights to those of the upper class. The Federation archaeological commission and exploration command of Starfleet have given me the go ahead to for now grant their request for asylum and to aide them within the bounds of the Prime Directive and my orders to find the scroll if possible. Would you be willing to speak to them here or planetside? Also is there anything my crew could do to aide you currently? I was about to inquire such before the Gurdians arrived..=/\= She said.

=/\= I am willing to meet with your guests planetside if you prefer. It would give me the chance to continue my own excavations here, though your crew could assist in a few ways I could find. I am sure your science teams might find the ruins in particular of interest for scans alone, they’ve been giving off periodic energy readings which my own equipment has yet to locate given their simpler nature. Engineering crews I could use for heavier excavation work and maintenance on my hauler craft or on my ship in orbit as it has been in low power mode for the past 8 months there. Security I’m not sure I can find much use for but they could assist the other teams, the local animal life is fairly simple and avoids the dig site overall due to lack of vegetation mostly. And I’m sure I’m due for some kind of medical check up and psychological update for your medical teams. Would all this be amenable to you?..=/\= He asked.

Turning to Trainor since the XO was busy elsewhere she said. “..Commander Trainor assemble all available personnel in each department for away team duty as outlined by Professor Shanok. Then assemble with our guests in Transporter room 1 in 20 minutes for beam down. Make sure everyone is briefed on what is expected of them and remind them to be careful these ruins are precious and the first of the Lawgiver to be found outside Romulan claimed space. I’ll have the XO join you then once she4 finishes her own duties here..” She said. “..Questions?..” She asked.

Lt. Philips got ready for the away team mission. “What are we to expect once we get to the planet?” Philips said.

”..Talk with Commander Trainor once you’re in the transporter room..” She replied. “..In short you can expect some archaeological digging and support operations..” she said in summary.

Trainor shook his head. “No, ma’am.” The Operations Chief said as he turned from his station. “I’ll call everyone down once I quickly plan for the inventory needed.” Tenzing turned on his heel and headed into the turbolift.

Simon escorted the Gurdians back to the bridge at the Captain’s request, and took his own position back behind the Security console, but didn’t get too comfortable in case Trainor decided he would be needed on the away mission. “An actual quiet mission? It will be nice to have an easy one for a change,” Simon said with a chuckle, though he doubted that would last. It was his job to be the pessimist of the crew and always consider the worst possible scenario, after all.

Kara nodded, grateful to get away from the command chair. “Aye sir,” she replied as she quickly ran a scan of the planet to check for anything they needed to be aware of or vaccinated against.

Nothing showed up on sensors that they needed to worry about medical or science wise. As mentioned by Shanok the local plant and wild life seemed pretty tame.
