Ranlei fought down the hormonal responce contact with the CSO brought. Kara had triggered her earlier which meant that at least for now she was imprinted on Kara. But the idea of being stepped on by a giant reptile allowed her to shake off the wzve of feelings so that she lifted skirts and hauled her posterior after the others. Her stamina was of course better than human in most regards. But nobody would say she was built to run and she was far slower than the others and quickly fell behind.them. “Oberlienent Starr!”, she huffed out. “Assuming this is a puzzle rather than a combat exercise. “, she wheezed , “Where is the cave? Or obstical it can not follow us past “, and she stumbled took several imbalanced strides droping her skirts to put out her hands for balance and of course tripped on her skirts and crashed to the ground knocking the wind out of herself

“That’s part of… the fun,” Simon replied with a chuckle as he ran, “I have the computer randomly select that location each time, so in short - I don’t know - we need to find it,” he said, keeping an eye out for anything that might be useful in the situation. Looking around, he looked to see if he could find anywhere they could get away. Quickly looking around, Simon pointed in a direction, the thundering footsteps getting closer - maybe about half a mile away at that point. “That way, from the tree view that way will lead to a tall cliff with a narrow path - too narrow for the beastie to climb, but it’ll be uphill,” he started heading in that direction, and after about half a kilometer, they reached the cliff. They could start to feel the ground shake. “Well, up we go,” he said - as he began to go up the very narrow switchback path. He knew that they didn’t necessarily need to get all the way up, just a few hundred feet.

The fall had slowed Ranlei enough that she wasn’t going to get out of reach of the dinosaur even if she hadn’t had the breath knocked out of her. So she instead rolled into the underbrush and went still. Earth preadators were attracted first to movement well the two running6 up the hill ought to keep ut’s attention for a bit even if she was breathing too heavy to be as quiet as she wished to be. Of course nobody noticed she had fallen behind . Of course she had tripped on her dress. Which being silk and lace was certainly ruined. It was bad form to break the illusion of reality in a shared holo adventure, but knowing that the dinosaur couldn’t hurt her on ourposes made the idea of standing up walking over to it and drop kicking it in the gentalia tempting. But her luck on this ship had been running sour. So the stupid thing would likely slip and fall on her if her lucklessness held true. Now it was a race between if she could get her breathing under control befot the figured out it couldn’t reach the other officers.

Simon looked down from about halfway up the cliff, noticing that Ranlei had not been able to join them. He looked from his high vantage point, and could see the T-Rex coming straight for them. He wasn’t chief of security for nothing, and knew that Ranlei had probably hid somewhere out of sight to try and stay silent. One advantage of big beasts - they have blind spots that are closer to them in some ways, and can’t rely fully on sight on those areas. He hypothesized that Ranlei probably hid nearby, and did what they could to help with being the distraction.

Being the more athletic of the group, Simon climbed a bit higher before making a cawing of his own, making as loud a noise as he could from the higher altitude, the wind carrying the sound further.

The T-Rex looked up at where the noise was coming from, which pulled it further away from Ranlei, though Ranlei would have heard some sort of mimicry attempted from higher up, which the T-Rex headed started charging towards, giving Ranlei a window of safety to get to a more secure location.
