As the call came in, it was Simon’s first mission as the Chief of Security on the ship, giving himself one more check over with his new pips, and tapped his commbadge =/\=On my way, Captain, Security ready for departure.=/\= Watching the final part of the message he sent to his parents before leaving just finishing sending as he entered the turbolift to the bridge.

“Stand over at auxiliary one and assist science with sensor readings, Lieutenant.” Trainor said. The Chief of Operations turned to gesture towards the console he was speaking of. “Ship systems are at peak efficiency, Captain!” Tenzing called out.

“If you need anything Philips, just let me know.” The young Lieutenant Commander added.

“Yes sir.” Philips said as he headed the auxiliary controls. “Understood sir.”

”..Lieutenant Phillips cue our request for departure to starbase 243. Helm once we receive it take us out on thrusters. Once we clear the dock way angle us out of the system and go to warp 5 for UEP-116 and engage..” Drudoc said.

“Sir, request for departure has been confirmed. Sending same to helm.” Philips said as he heard the engines going on thrusters.

Kara studied the newcomer with interest as he took up the station next to her. She leaned over and extended her hand. “Lt (jg) Kara, chief science officer, welcome aboard,” she said quietly as they shook hands.

“Thank you Lt. My name is Lt. (JG) Stu Philips, Ops Officer. Pleased to meet you. Philips said as he shook hands with the CSO. “What’s it like to be the chief around here?”

As the docking clamps disengaged with soft thuds the ark angel soon was on the move, and after a time lept to warp for UEP-116 on the way for their mission. “..Lieutenant Kara whats our ETA till arrival for the system?” She asked.

Checking her notes for the mission Kara could report they would arrive in about 10 hours at their current speed.

Nodding at the reply Drudoc rose. “..Very well Commander DeVries you got the bridge till then. All other departments I want standard operation drills ran and reports filled upon our arrival for the survey of the system..” She said.

“Understood, Captain.” DeVries nodded to her. “As Commander Trainor has done, our downtime may serve as a good opportunity for giving your Junior Officers–who aren’t included in drills–bridge experience.” She hinted, knowing each department had at least one JO who grew excitable at the thought of maintaining their department’s bridge station.

“Aye Captain.” Chris tapped away at the Engineering console, ensuring that the power levels and warp engine were operating within normal parameters. He could probably run a few drills on simulated EPS failures and a few other things so that they can go through the motions of repairing critical components to be more comfortable with the procedures.
