He heard the muttering from Ensign Blackford. “Ensign, is everything okay?” He asked. Not sure what to say or ask.

U.S.S. Ark AngelThe comms chimed as the Counselor’s voice filled the bridge.
=^= Cross to Captain Becket. The EVA team has completed suit checks and final mission preparations. We are preparing to depart the ship and conduct a close-range survey of the target area. Objectives are reconnaissance, environmental assessment, and collection of sensor data. Lieutenant Spenn will be monitoring the team’s medical telemetry throughout the operation, and we will maintain continuous communications with the ship. =^=
There was a pause before he continued.
=^= We will proceed cautiously and report any significant findings immediately. Requesting permission to commence EVA operations, sir. =^=
Counselor Alex Cross
=/\= Very well counselor. Just make sure we don’t lose anyone. I want everyone back home safely. Once safely home, we can then leave the system. I want to verify if there are survivors or not. =/\=. He replied back.

Wyatt scratched the back of his head, shifting awkwardly for a moment. “Sorry sir, it’s nothing,” he said quickly, his voice a little too rushed to sound convincing. Before the other man could press any further, Wyatt clicked off the message on his PADD and pulled his report back up.
His eyes scanned over the lines of data, though his focus clearly wasn’t fully there anymore. He leaned back slightly in his chair, tapping his fingers lightly against the edge of the console as he reread the same section twice. Around him, the steady hum of the ship and the quiet chatter from nearby stations filled the silence he left behind.
After a second, Wyatt straightened up and forced himself back into work mode. He began checking over the incoming reports one by one, verifying security logs, patrol rotations, and status updates with practiced efficiency. Every now and then his gaze flicked briefly toward the dark screen where the message had been before he pushed the thought away again and continued typing.

As the crew on the bridge sat and waited for reports from the shuttle teams to come in, the sensors scanning the rest of the system outside the radiation interference and beyond the chunks of the wrecked alien ship finally came back with some results.
Tinier bits of debris had been blown out to other areas of the system, but they were so tiny as to be impossible to hold any kind of known life or survivors. There was also energy residues that definitely were of unknown weapons fire. Most likely some kind of plasma based energy weapon, though very low yield compared to any more modern weapons of known powers. There was also signs of primitive and crude nuclear and fusion tipped missile weapons among the system. Showing more likely that the chunks of debris of the alien ship were likely two ships but both from the same race and origin of the space faring alien culture. Why the two ships had fought each other, and why damage of the remaining five chunks were showing damage both internally and externally though was still a mystery.
