Captain Becket was on the bridge along with Ensign Blackford. While everyone else was at their duty stations, NE Blackheart was at the science station running scans within the area. He sat there pondering as he had his little pad open on his chair. NE Lovejoy was in engineering, ensuring everything ran smoothly. “Report.” He said to everyone else who was around on board.

NE Blackheart “Science is good, sir.” He said with a nod. “Engineering is good as well sir.” Said NE Lovejoy.

Becket sat in his chair and looked at his security officer, then paged his medical officer. =/\=”Sickbay status report”=/\=. He said to his medical officer. “Ensign Blackford status report.” He had also looked at Blackford.

Dr. Charlotte Kelley tapped the side of the biobed console before answering the bridge.
=/= “Lieutenant Kelley to Captain Becket. Sickbay status is stable. We currently have four injured personnel under treatment, two in recovery, and no fatalities reported. Medical staff is fully operational and capable of handling additional casualties if necessary.” =/=

Wyatt looked over from the station he had been working at, the soft glow of the console reflecting across his face. His posture stayed straight and professional, fingers still moving across the controls even as he turned his attention toward the officer. To anyone else he probably looked perfectly calm, focused even, but there was a tension sitting just beneath the surface. It showed in the slight tightness around his jaw and the way his shoulders stayed just a little too rigid. He hid it well though, years of discipline making it easy to bury nerves beneath routine.

The security reports continued to scroll across the screen beside him, green status indicators flashing one after another. Patrol routes were covered, internal sensors functioning normally, weapons systems on standby exactly where they were supposed to be. Everything was in order. On paper, at least, the ship was ready.

“Sir, security is green and ready,” Wyatt reported evenly.

His voice was steady, controlled, though he briefly glanced back toward the display as if double-checking everything one more time before fully stepping away from the console. He ran a hand along the edge of the station, more out of habit than necessity, then straightened slightly.

“All decks have reported in, response teams are standing by, and internal checkpoints are active. No issues reported so far.”

He paused for half a second, eyes flicking toward the bridge before settling back on the officer in front of him.

Despite the calm report, Wyatt could feel the tension hanging in the air around the room. Everyone aboard knew something important was coming. The bridge was quieter than usual, conversations shorter, movements sharper. Even the experienced officers seemed more focused than normal. Wyatt tried not to let it get to him, but the anticipation sat heavy in the back of his mind.

Still, he gave a small nod, forcing a faint confident expression onto his face.

“We’re as ready as we’re going to be, sir.”

Becket had heard all the status reports. “Very good; we don’t want to lose contact on the away teams. Let’s make sure we keep a strong lock on them in case we need to beam them out.” He ordered. “I don’t need to lose anyone on this mission. Alright, Let’s get to work.” He said.
