The sickbay was rather calm today. He wasn’t supposed to be on duty today, as everything was calm, he was supposed to be in the holodeck for some training. Unfortunately, a wrong move has burst some veins badly, leaving him with bruises around his body. Limping around the ship still in his martial garb, he had opened the door to the medical bay on the only person on duty, a nurse whose name he failed to remember (for now).

The badly beaten Andorian dismissed her help with a swipe of the hand, as he saw her eyes widen at his condition. “I’ll be fine”, he tried to reassure her. “Don’t mind me, I know what to do.” Going toward one of the medical beds, he grabbed a hypospray loaded with analgesic on his way. 10CC of Morphenolog would ease the bruise, he hoped.

As the medical syringe hissed near his neck, he already felt his body straightening a bit, the pain gradually being numbed by the drug. Sitting on the bed, he made a rapid diagnosis of his own exoskeleton. No visible fracture, thankfully, but he’d have to treat the bleeding coursing under his skin if he wants to be back in correct shape.

Setting the dermal regenerator, he applied the ray to his legs and shoulders, feeling his veins scratch a little as the tool closed the small capillary vessels.
Quite ironic that I spend my off-duty time at work again, he thought with a grin mixed with a bit of pain. As he operated on himself, he could feel the nurse gaze from time to time, keeping a watch on him, usually when he let a sound out of pain.
