=/\= of course Governor. We’ll see you shortly. =/\=. Becket said nodding.

Soral was at the science console listening to everything that was going on, as far as he could tell , a decision regarding the away team hadn’t been made

Spenn’s voice came through the commbadge, “Captain, could you please clarify the meaning of the dinner invitation I have recently received?

Lieutenant Spenn Chief Medical Officer

He sat there smiling at the question. =/\=doctor we’ve all been invited to see the colony and have been invited to dinner. Since we have brought them their supplies=/\=. He replied.

Shinichi had been mentally making notes of the exchange, working our what shifts can go and which one will stay behind to man the ship. He would assemble a small team of engineers and security to assist with the dispersion of the cargo and have them finish by 1800. From Shinichi remembered of American BBQ from his time at the Academy, he would not recommend Dress Uniforms.

When the Governor signed off, Yoshida went back to his PaDD and began to issue out assignments. Ensigns Sanks and Blackford can work work with some other Security ensigns to backup O’Nell and his engineers. Waryn, who Yoshida noticed cross training with Operations on the bridge, would be good to assign to that, as well as the newer officer, Ensign Jerkir. The rest of the ship can get a jump on their shore leave.
Yoshida punched a few keys on his PaDD and sent our a ship wide transmission, alerting the crew that, unless given other orders, they were all free to take the time they were in orbit of Sal III as they chose, with freedom to go to the surface if they so chose.
Yoshida then sent out a message to Gamma shift, alerting the select few of that shift who would be required to remain on the ship and on duty. Then he messaged the aforementioned Engineers and Security Officers who would be assisting him with the supply dispersion on the surface.

Captain Becket smiled afterwards. “Number One, shall we have the R&R now? I’m sure everyone needs it.” Captain Becket said.

Upon receiving the text notification from the XO, Izak informed the duty operations manager and left the bridge.

Once he was in the turbolift he tapped his combadge. =/\=”Waryn to O’Nell. Chief, it looks like the XO has us overseeing delivery before we can join the festivities. What transporter room to you want us to meet you in?”

OOC: This may be a situation where we jump straight to the party, but I figured I’d roll with the XO’s instructions unless/until that happens.

Lt J.G. Izak Waryn - Engineering Officer - U.S.S. Ark Angel

OOC: I planned to make two threads here shortly 1 that involves the mass beam down plus any players/NEs for handling that then a 2nd one that is at the same time but still quite early before the bbq for those who want to take in the colony/colonists etc before they will remerge in time for the bbq

Shinichi turned to the Captain and said, “I’ll meet you after we have all the cargo properly dispersed. You should feel free to converse with the Governor, Captain. I’ll manage the rest.” He gave a smile and then headed for the turbo lift to meet with the away team. He sent out a message to them all to meet him in Transporter Room 3, planning to coordinate the other ship beam outs through the remaining transporters so that the away team wouldn’t hinder them, and vice versa.

He smiled at his number one. “Very well. I’ll converse with him and meet you down there.” He said with a smile.

O’Nell was overseen the final supplies being transported to the colony. He’s checking everything before it was sent out scanning barcodes and double checking what is going out is what is going out. He’s also been removing any binary data left over from the Non Star fleet equipment plugged in to keep certain things going.

Lt. Commander Riley O’Nell (CE)

Izak arrived at Transporter Room 3 to be a part of the away team managing the supply transfer on the ground. He’d grabbed a PADD to manage inventory, and a tricorder… just to be on the safe side.

It sounded like the locals had everything in hand, but it was a large operation. That meant there were more opportunities for something to go wrong. Having people already on-site could prevent those minor issues from becoming serious problems.

Lt J.G. Shau looked around for Lt Cmdr O’Nell or Cmdr Yoshida to see if they had any additional instructions before they beamed down.

The captain had then left his number one on the bridge and he headed to the turbolift. “Transporter room 1”. He gave the command to the turbolift. The turbolift had then started to take off after closing it’s doors. It would then take a halt to a stop. He would step out of the turbolift and headed to the transporter room 1. He would look over at the transporter Chief and nodded. “Energize, Chief.”

Wyatt stepped out of the lift and into the corridor, the soft hum of the ship surrounding him as he made his way toward Transporter Room 3. His boots echoed lightly against the deck plating, each step bringing him closer to something he had been waiting for since the day he graduated the Academy—his first away mission.

It wasn’t anything glamorous. Just a routine supply transfer to a nearby station. No hostile territory, no unknown anomalies, no first contact scenarios that would end up in history books. Still, to Wyatt it felt important. It was the first time he would be leaving the ship as part of an official team.

Excitement twisted together with nerves in his stomach.

As he walked, he straightened his uniform for what felt like the hundredth time, smoothing the fabric across his chest and tugging the hem into place. He quickly checked his belt, making sure his phaser was secured where it should be. Regulations said to carry it on any away mission, even something as simple as a supply run.

He doubted he would actually need it. The mission briefing had made it clear—nothing dangerous, just a transfer of medical and engineering supplies. In and out. Simple.

Still, Wyatt believed in being prepared. Space had a funny way of turning “simple” missions into complicated ones.

Better safe than sorry.

He slowed slightly as the doors to Transporter Room 3 came into view at the end of the hallway. For a moment he took a steady breath, letting the nervous energy settle just a little before stepping forward. The doors slid open with a quiet hiss as he approached.

Inside, the transporter pads glowed faintly beneath the overhead emitters.

Wyatt stepped into the room and immediately noticed he wasn’t the first to arrive. Another officer was already standing near the pads, clearly ready to beam down. Wyatt paused for a moment, straightening his uniform one last time before moving further inside, giving a small nod of greeting as he joined the team. The quiet anticipation in the room made his pulse pick up slightly.

Any minute now, they’d be beaming out

Neither the XO Or CE were available, and Izak was getting a little antsy to get down to the surface and actually do something. He glanced around and didn’t see any other crew he knew well, but there was a Security Officer he’d seen around a few times. Man… I might need to ask Commander O’Nell if I can transfer off of Gamma shift for a bit… there are just so many people onboard that I don’t know yet.

“Blackford!” He called out as he approached. “It’s… Wyatt, right? I’m Izak Waryn.” Izak extended his hand in greeting. “I’m just hazarding a guess, but I bet this away mission sounds as boring for you Security types as it does for us Engineers. Just waiting around in the unlikely event something goes wrong… is that about right?” He shook his head. “Well… at least there will be food at the end of it.”

Izak was a couple inches taller than Wyatt and had an athletic build. His blonde hair was a little longer than most, and left in a side-swept undercut. His eyes were a dark and somehow murky combination of green and gray. He looked mostly human except for the flat, U-shaped nose ridges, which the Security Officer might recognize marked him as a Brekkian.

Lt J.G. Izak Waryn - Engineering Officer - U.S.S. Ark Angel

Wyatt looked over as the Engineering Officer approached and offered a polite nod before reaching out to shake his hand. “Yes, sir. Wyatt,” he said, his grip firm but respectful.

He gave a small, easy smile as the officer joked about the mission being boring for Security types. For a moment Wyatt considered it. For most security officers, a simple supply transfer probably was dull—no action, no excitement, nothing that would make it into a report beyond a few lines.

But honestly, Wyatt didn’t mind.

“Sometimes it’s just nice to get off the ship,” he said with a small shrug. “Breathe real air and touch real grass.” His smile grew a little more genuine as he spoke. Life aboard a starship was incredible—exploring the stars, seeing places most people could only dream of—but it could also feel strangely closed in after long stretches.

“And, well…” he added with a faint chuckle, “the food is nice too.”

He glanced briefly toward the transporter pad, smoothing the front of his uniform again out of habit. Despite trying to play it cool, there was still a quiet excitement sitting in his chest. This might not be a dangerous mission, but it was his first real away team assignment. Just stepping onto another world—even for something routine—felt like a milestone.

Riley saw his engineer with a phaser and called him over “ have you been cleared for phaser use” he checked his file. “If not I can do it for you I didn’t get myself qualified for it during the Dominion war” he said then he taps his com badge “CE to COS”

OOC: message for the chief of security if you want, we can start a thread to where we can run a class to requalify people to use a phaser on board in the vessel
