As Becket was just getting off of shift for a little bit before taking off on the ships mission, he had decided to head to 18 Forward for a drink. However, he is unsure what to drink this time. As he isn’t much of a drinker. He’ll drink something every now and then but will drink something. He came into 18 Forward and saw the bartender. He sat down and looked over what they had in stock.

Izak had just finished working what amounted to a double shift. Not out of necessity… but he liked to support Alpha Shift whenever he could. It gave him more opportunities to learn from the Chief Engineer and other seasoned officers like Grant and Hobbes.

The newly minted Lt J.G. was at 18 Forward for a drink and a quick meal before turning in to catch some sleep. That’s when he saw the Captain come in and sit at the bar. “Good evening, Captain. I don’t see you in here that often.”

Lt Waryn had a half-empty glass of beer in front of him and some sort of vegetable wrap that appeared to be untouched.

He had heard the voice behind him and turned around. “Evening Lieutenant. I don’t typically come down here due to me running operations of this wonderful vessel of ours. So I don’t come down often.” He replied back. He had gotten off the seat he was sitting at and joined the Lieutenant.

Izak chuckled and shook his head. “I can only imagine. I stay busy helping the shift leader manage Engineering’s workload… managing the entire ship must be exhausting at times.”

Lt Waryn recalled his check in with the CO. “Captain, was it difficult to shift from Engineering to Command? I don’t mean changing uniforms from Operations Gold to Command Red. But the shift in roles and the increase in scope and responsibility.”

He chuckled. “Switching from engineering to command has had its challenges. The whole shift in roles is definitely been the hardest. Going from being the Chief Engineer here and then to being the executive officer to commanding officer it’s been hard. But I’ve pulled through.” He said with a smile.

Izak chuckled again. “Yes Sir. I imagine one doesn’t truly know what they’re capable of until they have to rise to the occasion.”

Lt Waryn took a sip of his drink and then realized the Captain didn’t have one. “I hope I didn’t interrupt you on your way to get a drink of your own, Captain. If this is one of the few times you get to make it down here, I’d hate to distract you from relaxing and enjoying yourself.”

Becket nodded and smiled. “Yeah. But I eventually managed to get through it, no problem.” He replied with another smile. “It’s no problem, Lieutenant. No problem at all. It’s okay. Besides, I could use the company.” He replied back.

“Well, at least let me get you a drink, Captain. That way you can relax a bit as we chat.”

Izak took the last drink of his own glass and waved to get the bartender’s attention. “I’m going to have a second Bajoran Ale… what can I get you, Sir?”

“Ill take the same. Thank you Lieutenant.” He said with a smile.

Izak nodded, and then ordered the drinks when the bartender came over. He took the moment to have a few bites of his pavilla wrap and then returned to the conversation when the drinks arrived.

“There were a lot of Bajoran families on the freighter I grew up on,” he said as he handed a glass to the Captain. “So this is my ‘go to’ drink.”

Izak took a sip from his glass and waited to see Captain Becket’s reaction. The brekkian had always found it light, crisp, and spicy. Refreshing, but still complex.
