Alex had pondered there for a moment. As the last mission was a successful mission, he had thought about promoting the counselor on board. =/\= “Counselor. Please report to my ready room. I have something that your might like”.=/\= As he tapped his combadge.

=^=Aye sir. On my way.=^=Cross said as he made his way to the bridge. Unlike his last trip here he felt no trepidation. It was becoming a familiar route.
Reaching the ready room doors he rang the chime. While he waited his professional gaze swept the bridge and he was pleased to see how well the crew worked together. This crew was jelling well.

As he looked up from his monitor on his desk he smiled. “Enter.” Came a voice from the other side of the door. Becket knew having his counselor on board the ship was and has been the most best thing he could ever ask. He wanted to make sure that the good news was good enough for Lieutenant Cross. Especially the most recent mission that they had just recently completed. He sat there smiling.

Cross entered and nodded in respect to Beckett before moving to stop in front of the Captain’s desk, hands held behind his back. “Reporting as ordered, sir.”

Counselor Alex Cross

He looked up. “Ah Counselor. How has your day been so far?” He asked. “I am hoping you know why I called you up here. Yes?” he asked another.

“My day has been good, the crew is settling in very well. I must say that I have been impressed by them all. You have gathered a strong team that will work well together. Ah no, sir. I cannot say why you have asked me here. I assumed it was either questions about the crew or your seeking advice.” He frowned slightly in puzzlement, scouring his memory for any incident on board ship that might have led to the Captain’s concern.

“Well advice on this mission yes. But also,” he paused handing him a little box with a little something that goes on his collar. “Here. Open it.” He said with a smile.

Both of Cross’ eyebrows rose in surprise as he accepted the box. There was only one type of box that a Captain handed out to crew. He opened the box and saw indeed that there were Lieutenant Commander pips in the box. “This is a great honor, sir but I must admit my surprise. It does not seem as if we have served long enough to earn promotions yet.”
