” I am here. Take a seat in the biobed, ensign,” Spenn told the ensign from a few feet away.

ENS Waryn had noted that somebody was moving in his peripheral vision, but was caught off guard that it was actually the Chief Medical Officer. “Yes, Sir.” He responded instantly to the tone of the doctor’s calm and precise voice. He moved to the indicated biobed and sat down.

Izak gave the extremely tall and thin Vulcan a once-over. The doctor didn’t exactly look young, but from the Ensign’s limited experience with Vulcans, that only narrowed his age down to anywhere from 60 to 120.

He decided to err on the side of caution and did not start any unnecessary chit-chat. I imagine that’s a sound strategy when dealing with any Department Head… or Vulcan… until I get to know them a little bit better.

Spenn appreciated the quick response. “Do you have ailments or any physical conditions that would impede your service in Starfleet?” He requested.

“No Sir. I had a few minor illnesses while at the Academy and broke my left wrist during a martial arts competition in my 4th year. But thats about it.”

Of course, a lot of Doctors ask about my physiology as a Brekkian. ENS Waryn thought. But maybe they have enough information on file now that im not much of an oddity.

Izak remained quiet, hoping for the meeting to be routine. He needed a bit of normalcy after the Kobiyashi-O’Nell the Chief Engineer put him through.

Izak’s eyebrows raised at the odd question. That’s a new one for me.

“My eyesight is fine, Sir. I don’t need corrective lenses and have never had corrective surgery. Or… are you suggesting that is no longer the case?”
