Yoshida left the meeting in the observation lounge and headed to Sick Bay. He was determined to get the preliminary meetings out of the way before they arrived at Starbase 342.

Entering the sick bay, he immediately began looking around for the CMO to begin the physical.

Spenn was reviewing medicine supplies when he saw someone standing idly at the center of his medbay. “May I assist you?” He asked, standing up.

Yoshida gave a slight bow of his head as he acknowledged the Lieutenant. “Yes,” He said, “I am Lt. Commander Yoshida. Your new Executive Officer. I am here to complete my onboarding physical.”

So they found a new XO. Good. Time will tell if it was a logical choice. “Sit down on the biobed, Commander.” Spenn told the executive officer plainly.

Yoshida nodded and took a seat. The doctor seemed to have a nonchalant air about him. Yoshida would see how it translated to his care. “Ready when you are, Doctor.”

“Do you possess a history of sicknesses or ailments that would prevent you from doing your job?” Spenn asked plainly.

“No.” Shinichi said briskly. He thought about how lucky he had been not to have suffered any major injuries in both Star Fleet and martial arts. He had had some minor sprains, cuts, bruises, a few broken bones from time to time, but nothing debilitating.

“And how is your eyesight?” Spenn asked.

“I had trouble when I was in my 20s, but I take Retinex regularly to avoid needing glasses.” Yoshida said. The doctor was very straightforward and to the point. He would have to see how he handled under pressure. Surely, they’d need a cool head when they got to Starbase 342.

Spenn handed the human a slip of paper. “I request that you enact the stretches that the piece of paper demonstrates.”

Yoshida scanned the paper and nodded. He performed the upper body stretches while remaining on the bio bed, stretching out his wrists by taking his hands in different positions pressing them out. he stretched his arms across his body and then popped off the bio bed to continue the stretches. He bent down and wrapped his arms around his shins as he pulled himself down and folded in half. Standing, he kicked up his leg behind him and caught his foot in his hand, pulled for a few seconds, let the foot drop and did the other. He moved through the remaining stretches with relative ease, his martial arts training leaving him very limber and flexible.
