Riley Entered main Engineering and thing where far worse then the diagnostics showed. It was a complete mess. It was dirty with junk all over the place. A few officers were asleep at their stations not doing any work. When walked across the room and switched main power to backups and did a manual shutdown of the warp core and noticed no one has ever replaced the coolant systems

he stood up in front of the team there and yelled

“Ok now you lazy lads first thing is that you are going to clean this engineering deck next I want everyone to run diagnostics and put a list together of what each area needs to be done once you all are doing that. I’m gonna give this Warp core some much needed love. If you don’t wanna do anything tell me now I can tell that the exhaust ports needs some cleaning”

as he finished, everyone started to get off their butts and move.

he started a detailed diagnostic of the warp core and saw the problems popping up

“Oh poor dear what did they do to you”

Lieutenant Commander Becket came down and visited engineering. His old posting before promoted. The doors slid open. “Lieutenant.” He said as he looked around. “What in the hell happened in here? It’s a mess. I didn’t leave our last Chief Engineer this place to look like a mess. I left this place sparkling clean. Though that’s not what I came down here for. I came down here to see what kind of damage we have.” Alex said, looking at Lieutenant O’Nell.

O’Nell looked at the XO “they where running the Warp Core on a high setting with no coolant systems to help. It looks like i well need to rebuild this thing or replace it. They neglected and over heated a lot of components it was a wonder it was still working and there is a lot of heat fatigue on the plasma instructors. On top of that the engineering deck is a pigsty and I saw a lot of the officers sleeping at their posts” he said

“I am having our sections and engineering team run diagnostics on their sections and to come up with a list of everything that is messed up and or broken to see if we can fix as much as we can”

Commander Becket had sighed due to the report he received from the Lieutenant. “Alright. I can’t believe that any of them would sit here on their backsides, not doing anything. Alright. What do you recommend? We are heading back to Wolf 359 as we speak for a little R&R,” He asked.

Riley rubbed his chin a little bit “I can check the stores onboard and see what I can do but the warp core is in bad shape I may be able to get her up and running again and maybe get warp 1 or 2. As for the people sleeping I want them cleaning the mess or scrubbing the exhaust ports. The officers doing there jobs will be helping me bring this baby to life” he said as he accessed what materials are on board for repairs

He stood there listening. “Alright. I’m guessing you recommend just full impulse for now until restored?” He asked.

Riley thought for a few moments “ do you want me to start rebuilding or Jerry rig something to get us where we need to go so we can get a new one?” he asked

He nodded. “Alright full impulse it is then.” He said.

Riley looked at him “yes full impulse but you you want a quick fix then get a new one for brings this baby back to life ?” He asked again more direct.

Alex sighed a little. “Your right, Lieutenant. We’re gonna go full impulse back to space dock and get a replacement. How long would it be estimation time for the new one to be in?” He asked Lieutenant O’Nell.

He smiled “do you mind if I use the warp cores from 2 shuttles with that I can get us to warp 1.9 or 2” he said with a wink

He nodded. “Go ahead Lieutenant.” Commander Becket said.

after a hour the mess was somewhat cleaned and 2 shuttle warp cores where both bridged into the main core. Soon the main warp core was activated, and it gave a strong humming noise. “Oh I love that sound it is amazing. Well, a little bit of loving care can do.” The our two cores also activated and is now in sync with the main core after a few minutes of no problems he activated the com =A= Engineering to bridge we are ready for warp 2 = A=

=/\= Thank you. We’ll be heading warp 2 back to spacedock for repairs and R&R.=/\= Becket responded back.

The bridge cores feed power in to the nacelles that was generating enough power to create a stable warp field around the vessel as it jumped into warp speed. O’Nell was keeping his eyes on this bridged system and keeping the containment fields stable. The other officers in engineering were amazed he was Abel to do something like this but he just smiled and said “the things you can learn to do on a Cargo vessel” indicating he has done this before.
