The low hum of the Ark Angel’s shuttle bay echoed off polished duranium bulkheads as Lieutenant Commander Alex Becket stood firmly at attention near the marked landing zone. The cavernous space was alive with movement—deck crews guiding cargo sleds, engineers running final diagnostic sweeps, and the steady glow of status lights reflecting off the shuttle’s atmospheric shielding grid.

Becket clasped his hands behind his back, posture precise but relaxed, his eyes fixed on the force-field barrier that shimmered in anticipation of the incoming arrival. Today was more than just a routine personnel transfer. The new Engineering Chief was inbound, and with recent tensions along the frontier, Star-fleet had deemed it necessary to assign someone with a reputation for both discipline and unpredictability.

At his side stood Roger Sanks, a seasoned operations specialist whose easy demeanor contrasted with Becket’s formality. He shifted his weight slightly, glancing toward the console as it pinged confirmation of an approaching craft.

The bay lights dimmed briefly, then brightened as the shuttle pierced through the force field in a smooth arc, repulsion flaring softly as it touched down. Steam curled from the cooling vents, and for a moment the entire bay seemed to hold its breath.

The hatch cycled open.

Becket straightened his uniform jacket, expression unreadable but alert.

Out walk a very sleepy looking Irish man. It looked like he have not see sleep in over 40 hours.

He walk out onto the ramp “ Hello Sir Lt. O’Nell reporting for duty” he said with a thick Irish accent

“Welcome aboard Lieutenant. I am Lieutenant Commander Alex Becket temporary Commanding Officer of the vessel. However, with how very slow it is, the crew has been no where to be found so Starfleet has been nice enough to send me new officers.” He replied.

Riley held up a hand as if he was listening to something. He then looked at you “by god man when was the last time the warp core been serviced. I can hear the Hume of it right now. It does not sound right” he said walking over to one of the wall panels and pulling up a warp core diagnostic he pointed to a read out “there the output is way off and the your running the core to high and that makes you burn more fuel then needed” he then slapped himself in the face “sorry about that sir I got sidetracked”
