Ciaran had just gotten his promotion from the admiral and giving full command of the Ark Angel. He had heard his new XO was going to be a Vulcan by the name of T’Shura. He was curious to meet her to see how she is but he needed to know it was alright to have her. This was his first command so he had hoped the Vulcan had some experience being an XO in order to help him out. After he left the conference room where he had meet the Admiral, he hit is comm badge and said, =/\=Captain Donoghuei to Lt Cmdr T’Shura. Please report to the Bee Me Up Cafe. I am on my way there right now in order to chat with you. Thank you.=/\= Ciaran then took about 10 minutes to arrive to the Bee Me Up Cafe and he found somewhere to sit down. He did not yet see T’Shura at the cafe yet. He sat with his back to the wall and was able to see the entrance door of the cafe. He never liked to sit with people behind him. He hated being snuck up on. He sat waiting on the commander.

T’Shura had spent the last few days at the Starbase so she had a chance to familiarize herself with it’s environs, especially the promenade. So when the call came in from her new Captain she knew exactly where the Bee Me Up Cafe was, having had lunch there a few times.
=^=Aye Captain, I will be there shortly.=^= She responded to the hail before making her way out of her temporary quarters on the station and headed for the promenade.
After having spent the last six years on the USS Memorial she more then welcomed the change when the offer of this Executive Officer position opened up. As typical for most Vulcans, she had mapped out her career, and she was a bit late on moving up into Command according to her own timetable. Mind you, Starfleet Command had it’s own timetable which obviously was not hers. It was not unexpected that it would take longer for humans to reach the logical conclusions a Vulcan would.
Her evaluations as Lieutenant had been exemplary though and she had run the Science Department with precision, proving that she had the ability for Command.
The Ark Angel was a fascinating ship being of the Mythology class, which allowed for a variety of missions. It would be most fascinating and challenging and she had to admit she quite looked forward to serving on her.
Reaching the Cafe T’Shura entered and took a moment to allow her eyes to adjust to the difference in the light level from the promenade, she took the time to scan the tables and spotted a middle aged human near the back with Captain pips, sitting on his own. She made her way to the back of the restaurant and up to his table.
“Captain Donoghuei, Lt. Commander T’Shura.” She said introducing herself, “A pleasure to make your acquaintance, sir.”

Ciaran was not sure if it was alright to try and shake hands with a Vulcan. It was a normal for people from Earth to shake hands but he was not sure of how it worked on Vulcan. He stood up and waited to see how T’Shura reacted. He then said, “Thank you for coming Commander. I have some good news for you. You are being promoted to Full Commander and will be my executive officer of the USS Ark Angel. Welcome aboard.” He waited to hear what T’Shura has to say. He never knew how Vulcan’s would react.

T’Shura unfortunately, stood ram rod straight with her hands behind her back, not offering to shake hands. She was aware of the human custom but Vulcans were touch telepaths so to shake hands for them was extremely uncomfortable. Her psionic ability was stronger than the norm as well.
At the Captain’s words, one eyebrow went up as she tilted her head to the side. “I am honoured to accept the position, Captain. It has indeed come a bit earlier than I was anticipating. According to my career timetable I should have had another six months before being considered for an executive position.”

Ciaran laughed a little inside. He always thought it was funny how Vulcans had a timeline for everything in their life. Nothing was ever perfect or on a timeline so it was funny they were so rigid. He was just happy she seemed “excited” as much as a Vulcan could. He then said to T’Shura, “Are you ready to head to the Ark Angel? We can do the official position handover there. Please let me know.”

T’Shura nodded curtly,
“I am indeed prepared, I stowed my gear near the docking rings as I anticipated being told my assignment soon and I wished to be prepared. I can board with you now if you wish, sir.”

Ciaran went ahead and stood up. He waited for T’Shura to stand up and start walking towards the ship so he could follow her. He was not sure if it was normal courtesy for a female Vulcan to go first but that is how Ciaran as raised to always let the lady go first.

T’Shura had never sat down so she easily stepped out of the way so the Captain could stand, then she started a bit as she realized by his holding his hand out that he might her to precede him. She was aware of the human custom though it made her extremely uncomfortable. He should lead her as he was the Captain but she was not going to cause a scene. She nodded briefly then turned and headed out of the restaurant toward the docking ring. She would collect her satchel on the way. As a Vulcan, she travelled light.

Ciaran waited for T’Shura to grab her stuff and then he lead to get on the ship. As they walked onto the Ark Angel, Ciaran said to T’Shura. “Feel free to drop your stuff off to your quarters and then report to me in my ready room in order to get you set up properly as the new executive officer.” He was excited to have a first officer and was curious of how it would work with a Vulcan. He knew it was going to be very black or white when it came to orders. He knew he would never try to do an away mission himself.

“Aye sir.”T’Shura said and nodding once made her way to her quarters. Most of Starfleet ships were set up the same way and she had actually checked out the Mythology specs at one point because it was such an unusual ship. So she knew where the XO quarters were. Entering the turbolift she ordered it to Deck 3.
