(snip)Gavin’s brow furrowed as he went to look at the CSO’s back. “Well, if it isn’t so, you have a slight reaction to the dander of Earth Felidae, or else known as lions, tigers, and house cats”, the CMO stated. Doctor Stacey wasn’t able to find any other allergens yet, but they still were still within the window for another 5 minutes.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Gavin Stacey
Chief Medical Officer/CNST’Mor released slowly, making an effort to keep her breaths deep and even. Her breathing and heart rate gradually returned to normal. Finally, she looked up at Doctor Stacy.
“Thank you, doctor,” she said. Aware that such an allergy did not explain her current issue, nor did it explain what had just occurred. Surely Doctor Stacy could deduce that, and might already be suspecting something else.

After a few quiet minutes, Doctor Stacey took another look at the Vulcan’s back. “Nothing changed in the past five minutes,” Gavin stated as he rounded the bio bed. “So, are we going to continue with this song and dance, or are you going to tell me what you think the real cause for that rash is?” He asked, putting on his Counselor hat.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Gavin Stacey
Chief Medical Officer/CNST’Mor folded her arms, appearing slightly obstinate.
“I take it you believe, as so have postulated, that there is a phycological cause for my condition.”

Gavin raised his brow at the CSO’s question. He thought yes to T’Mor’s question, but she was the first to bring it up. “How about you start at the beginning, and try not to put me through another rigmarole”. The Doctor stated.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Gavin Stacey
Chief Medical Officer/CNS“Rigmarole, doctor?” she questioned, slightly scrunching her nose. The look of displeasure settled back into a neutral expression. T’Mor spoke again,
“I, truly, do not know what is wrong with me. Many others have found my case… curious, to say the least. However, other occurrences have seemed to coincide with, as you put it,”
T’Mor paused, took a deep breath, opened her lips and in a small, almost inaudible voice mumbled
“… stress.”

Gavin pursed his lips for a moment. “See, now was that so difficult?” He asked jokingly. “What have you tried so far to elevate the stress?” The doctor asked. He didn’t want to waste T’Mors time by suggesting something she’s already tried.

Chief Medical Officer/CNS“I have attempted to increase the intensity of my meditation,” T’Mor started, “However, it is difficult to find the time to do so.”
Lt., j.g. T’Mor, Chief Science Officer
“Find…?” Gavin asked rhetorically, “You’re the Chief Science Officer with a large department, I’m sure you can delegate in order to find the time.” The Doctor picked up a PaDD and reviewed T’Mor’s file. “I’m surprised your previous doctors haven’t tried putting you on medication, because if more meditation doesn’t work, then we’ll probably need to take that route.”
Lieutenant Junior Grade Gavin Stacey
Chief Medical Officer/CNS“What-“ T’Mor snapped, lurching forward but also keeping a firm grip on the edge of the biobed as a form self restraint. Her face turned a subtle shade of green as she caught herself. Only to continue in a more forcefully controlled tone,
“What do you mean by medication, Doctor? To control the overactive immune response? Or for…”
She trailed of. Making excuses was not helpful. Nor was it reasonable.
“I believe you may be right doctor. Although I am uncertain if it is the best solution. Very few Vulcans have undergone medical treatment for this condition.”
Lt., j.g. T’Mor, Chief Science Officer
“If we’re going to treat anything, it’ll be what’s causing the immune response,” The Doctor replied. “But, like I said, try to limit your work hours to no more than 9 or 10 a day, with two rest days a week for starters,” Gavin said. “If after 30 days that doesn’t work, then we’ll try the more drastic measure.”
Lieutenant Junior Grade Gavin Stacey
Chief Medical Officer/CNS“Very well,” T’Mor agreed, though with a hint of resignation,
“I appreciate your expertise in handling this situation. Humanoid biology is not my primary area of knowledge. It is good to consult with someone more experienced.”
She hoped the doctor would take the compliment as a sign that her hesitance was not a result of a lack of trust. It was her own embarrassment and anxiety feeding into each other. A negative loop that was difficult to navigate out of, especially if one is unwilling to accept help.
Lt., j.g. T’Mor, Chief Science Officer
“Of Course!” Gavin replied in turn, ” If there are any issues that arise between now and the check-in period, don’t hesitate to reach out, we want to keep on top of this at every turn.” The Doctor moved back to allow T’Mor room to get off the bed.
“Don’t be afraid to throw in some physical exercise as well,” Gavin added, “It does just as good as clearing your mind as meditation.”
Lieutenant Junior Grade Gavin Stacey
Chief Medical Officer/CNST’Mor came off the bed, and acknowledged the doctor’s advice with a nod.
“Thirty days- or less,” she confirmed, “Would it be helpful for me to keep a log regarding my progress?”
Maybe if she treated it like one of her own projects, it would be easier. She always kept growth logs for her specimens.
Lt., j.g. T’Mor, Chief Science Officer
Gavin shrugged in reply. “It could only be beneficial if you did,” Doctor Stacey stated. “It might give you some peace of mind as well”.
