Tak walked into Sickbay with their children and stood quietly somewhere they’d be seen, waiting for a nurse to notice them. Kota leaned up against the wall, and Paku stared at his PaDD, playing some kind of mobile game.

Buckingham was hurrying around the Sickbay, carrying a small stack of PADDs under his arm when he noticed the waiting Ensign.
“Hello there!” He said, slightly breathlessly after rushing around. “Is there anything I can do for you?”

“Yes, hello!” Tak waved up at the man with a slightly anxious smile. “We are here for our boarding examination? I was told to be here at 2 pm standard ship time… I apologise for being slightly late, but children are children and they insisted on seeing our quarters first,” they gestured to the two smaller figures. Kota grinned and waved at the doctor, while Paku didn’t seem to notice anything had changed until his sister elbowed him. Kota was somewhat damp, with wet spots on her shirt and fur. “And Kota insisted on taking a short swim.”

“Is there a particular place in which we should wait until a doctor is ready to examine us?”

“Well I can see you now” Buckingham smiled “Or, if you prefer, I can ask the Chief Medical Officer to examine you?”

“If you are qualified to do check-ups, I do not have a preference who does it,” Tak replied with a small smile. “As long as you are not too busy?”

“No, not at all! Please follow me. Buckingham said as he placed his stack of PADDs down on the side and walked across the Sickbay to an empty bio bed.
“Take a seat on here for me…” Buckingham said as he patted the surface of the Biobed.
“Is this your first assignment, Ensign?” Thomas politely inquired.
