After leaving the holodeck, it took Kaden about 5 minutes to get to the transporter room 1. He assumed he was the first one here but went ahead and stopped into the transporter room and when he walked in, he looked around. He then looked over to the transporter Chief and nodded.

Tak was just a few steps behind the Engineer, having followed him the entire trip down to the Transporter room. They bent over for a moment, breathing heavily from what had nearly been a sprint for the short-legged alien.

Kaden looked over and saw Tak walked in. He then said to the young ensign, “Thank you for coming. We are still waiting for the rest of the away team.” He then hit his comm badge and said. =/\=Lt Buchanan to Security. We have an away mission and I need three security officers to join us. Please send the officers to Transporter room 1. Thank you.=/\= He then waited for everyone else to show up.

“I’m hoping we find the container before the nanites die,” The CMO said as he entered the Transporter Room. “Imagine not only first contact with a new lifeform,” Gavin said, air quoting the word lifeform, “, But also being able to find a suitable place for these beings to live.”

A moment later three NE security officers came in, “..Ensigns Moe, Shemp, and Larry reporting..” NE Moe said.

Shemp commented while they were finishing preparations, “..Heard we’re trying to save some nanites? Anyone recall the old Enterprise D’s crew with stuff like this? Caused all sorts of havoc and endangered the ship and crew back in the 2360s, my grandmother told me about it once when I was in middle school..” he said.

”..I mean yeah there’s that, plus ya know the whole Borg thing, but really the Federation and others have used nanites in some form since like the early 24th century in some way or form. Though I guess with the whole problem with the Joint Fleet Maneuvers a year or so ago and the Borg almost taking over the whole fleet in Sol kind of keeps tensions high..” Larry replied.

T’Mor arrived to the room a little later, carrying a bag a fidgeting with her tricorder.

“Apologies for the delay,” she explained, “I was acquiring some additional supplies from the science lab that may be useful in stabilizing the nanites when we locate them. We do not know the exact conditions they require, but they seem to function well enough in standard atmospheric conditions when exposed to biological matter.”

Kaden looked around and believed everyone needed was here. He then looked at everyone and said, “Are we all ready to go down to the planet and see if we can figure out the containers? ” He was hoping he could save this species and he believed it would be good for his career. It was early in being a department head but he knew it was always cool to find things like this. He waited to see what everyone said.

John strolled into the transporter room with a hint of sarcasm in his tone. “I think my invite got lost in the post,” he quipped, a wry smile playing at the corners of his lips. “Luckily, Ensign Carter enjoyed the sound of his own voice and let slip that a merry band of officers were assembling here to do some saving. And I’ve just about crawled through enough of these Jefferies tubes and investigated the ship as much as I can right now. So, hope you don’t mind.” With a casual shrug, John joined the team, ready for the away mission. “No? Didn’t think so.”

Kaden looked up and noticed Lt DeLaney showed up in the transporter room. He then responded after his statement, “The more the merrier. Not a problem and I could use the extra help from an engineering stand point. Welcome. I believe we will be going down to the planet here shortly.” He then waited for confirmation but went ahead and stepped up onto the transporter pad.

Seeing as everyone had arrived, the CMO followed Lt Buchanan onto the transporter pad. The Doctor had slumped his med kit satchel around his shoulder and turned back to face the team.

Tak quickly scampered up onto the pad, making certain to grab their tail and hold it up to prevent anyone treading on it. They looked up at the gathered officers, once more feeling their short stature. How had the Raka managed it for so many decades? They turned forward with determination. They would help save these nanites… as well as they could.
