“Ensign Tak,” T’Mor said, sounding only slightly like a commanding officer, “Could you acquire our specimen and assist me in preforming a brief inspection before the test? We should establish a baseline so we can better compare the effects of the nanite exposure.”

“Reckon we should be in EV suits for this?” Kyle asked, trying to mask her nerves.

EV Suits would probably be pointless either way if the nanites escaped, they would easily break down and filter through the suit like they had seen with the metal sample.

Once Tak would bring over the white mouse named ‘Poopsie’ by the NE medical staff the mouse was shown to be in excellent health, though a tad on the ‘overweight’ side for its species probably due to NEs overfeeding it or spoiling it. With a baseline established they would be as ready as they could to insert the mouse into the containment area.

Tak retrieved the mouse, established baseline, and placed it in the transfer container. “Sorry, little dude,” they muttered, watching as it entered the containment area.

Kaden was glad it was said the EV suits would be a waste. He knew the technology would not be blocked by the EV suit. They would have had to find some sort of body armor to cover that would not allow the device inside. He was hoping they could find a ton of data based on these experiments. He was curious to see how the science department was going to move forward with this. Kaden was simply here to observe the data and record all the needed information. He was ready for the next move.

“I have life signs and other bio-data currently running on the monitor,” Doctor Stacey said once the mouse was released into the containment area. “We’ll be able to see what happens in real-time.” The Doctor added. Gavin hoped for the sake of the team that the nanites refrained from creating a monster out of the mouse.

“Here we go…” Tak found a stool and climbed atop it so they could see the results.

Kaden looked over at the mouse to see what was happening. He wanted to make sure what he saw from an engineering standpoint when the biosigns changed when the material was added to the mouse. He was hoping the mouse wouldn’t go totally crazy when the external material was added. He was afraid of the mouse running around but based on what he knew from the cow, he was not worried about the matter to take over to cause the mouse to do crazy things.

“Lieutenant Anders,” T’Mor said, eyes fixated on the chamber, “Please stand by, and be prepared to neutralize the subject if the situation escalates.”

There was the smallest quiver of anxiety in her voice as she made the request. As if it was more of a reminder to herself than to Anders that the situation should remain under their control.

The CMO continued to monitor the mouse’s life and bio signs to see the effect of the nanites on its system. Gavin thought that by capturing the data, T’Mor would be able to stop the nanites frombeing able to create more havoc on the colony.

Kaden liked how this was going to be covered. Getting this data was hopefully going to be helpful for the planet. He did not want to end up with the same situation as previously on the planet side with the nanites.

Turning to T’Mor with a slight grin, he said “Don’t worry lass, I’ve had my phaser on standby the past ten minutes.”
