T’Mor sat and stared, a jumble of t’an rods in front of her. She had been working on this game of Kal-toh for about 15 minutes. It was an exercise in focus, trying to suppress the more chaotic thoughts that had been distracting her.

She had sent several personal messages informing others of her promotion. Solkar had already sent a message expressing his approval, ‘As I expected, you have proven your abilities to Star Fleet. This success reflects well on both of us.’ he had said. Neither her sister or her mother had responded. She could help that she felt hurt by their disinterest. But she wouldn’t dare admit that, especially to them.

So T’Mor focused on something else, the game in front of her.

Cerenity entered the rec area. The five year old walked right up to T’Mor. ” That a Vulcan game right? She asked.
Cerenity

“Indeed,” T’Mor responded, though still focused on the pieces in front of her, “It is called Kal-toh.”
She made her next move, removing a rod and replacing it somewhere else. The whole structure shifted, now resembling a sort of three-dimensional star.

” How do you play” She asked. Watching the game intentionally. Here mind already trying to put together how the game worked. ” I get that you move the suports around but what is the goal” She asked.

“The goal,” T’Mor stated, picking up another piece, “Is to organize the structure into a spherical shape. To do so, is to successfully master the chaos inherit within the game, through the application of… logic.”

T’Mor placed the piece, again shifting the structure, this time to resemble a lop-sided cube. She exhaled, showing a slight hint of frustration.

Cerenity picked a rod from the top and moving it lowere. The shape shifted to being slitly less lopsided. ” I think it’s close” she said.
