T’Mor was waiting in the transporter room with the rest of the Ensigns, waiting for the security team to give them the go ahead. They all were in one corner of the room, happily chatting and gossiping. The two younger Ensigns in that group where making poses and pretending to fire their assigned phasers, much to everyone else’s amusement. T’Mor stood off to the side, reading. Reviewing the basics of hand phaser tactics. Hopefully, she wouldn’t have to use it, and her security team partner would have more hands on experience. It was hard to tell through her feigned look of concentration, but she was nervous.

Raith stepped into the transporter and gave a groan at the disorder about. He had headed off from the armory and had gotten to the transporter before Ensign Luna, but was sure she was close behind. The other ensigns needed to be rangled in. The wolves they were going after were no joke. “Attention!” He said above the noise. The Security Ensigns shot up and put their phasers away. “Now, what we are about to face we know very little about. We’ve come into contact with augmented wolves. They evade scans, intelligent to coordinate attacks, and we do not know how many there are, who built them, or if there are any other augmented creatures we may meet along the way. Our simple mail run has turned into something far more serious. We will be pairing with Science officers to help get some answers on these Augments. Further debriefing I will leave to Ensign Luna, who will be leading the away team.”

Having finished his brief, he walked over to the Vulcan who standing aside from the group reading. “Ensign T’Mor?” He asked, “You’ll be partnered with me for the excursion. We shouldn’t be splitting up from the main group, but in case we do, you’ll be joining me.” Raith held out a hand for the Vulcan to shake.
