Just a second or so after the XO had pressed the chime, NLt Stern at the helm station to the right side of the bridge spoke, “..Commander, the Commodore is not in her ready room presently.” he reported, checking his console a second he added, “..She is currently in holosuite 1 on deck 16. She left a message that any new arrivals wishing to meet her should report there. You should also know she is with her daughter and several of the other teenage school teens.” he reported.

Kane turned about, he nodded at the officer at the helm. “Thank you Lt. I will have to meet her there then. Her present company is noted.” He said before he headed back the way he came. He stepped back onto the Turbolift =^=Deck 16=^= he called out. The doors closed and away the turbolift went, as it swiftly carried him to his requested deck. He let out his breath and looked down on himself as the lift moved. He took a moment to recollect himself before the door opened. He stepped out of the turbolift into the corridor. He headed to a wall and places his hand on the panel. =^=Computer. Show me to holosuite 1=^= He nodded as the panels lit up and showed him the way towards his desired destination.

A series of lights came on on the wall directing him in the proper direction.

He stopped just beyond the door’s detection range and took a moment. He readied himself once more. He stepped forward and watched the door open up. He watched the door open and then looked around the inside, before his eyes swept between the people within the room. “Good afternoon.” He said as he looked between everyone.

No sooner had Kane stepped into the holosuite’s doors then he found himself it seemed on some kind of blackened road. The heavy sound of a roaring engine of some sort came to his ears a split second later followed by everything goin silent and still as the holosuite computer voice spoke, =/\= Occupant endangered, engaging safety protocols. =/\= the whole simulation ground to a halt and as he looked to his left he found barely 4 inches from his person a sleek racing styled wheeled vehicle of some sort. Having it seems came racing down on the road from higher up on the hill nearby. Four more such vehicles were not far behind it.

Kane froze there on the spot, having never experienced these vehicles himself he could see that they were coming at high rate of speed and there was nothing he could do to try and save himself, so unfortunately due to the shock and surprise he found himself rooted to the spot. The most he could do was to put his hands up trying to protect some of his face, which would do him no good if he were actually hit, though it left him in such an undignified position.

”..Good god!” some younger toned female cried, “..What the heck?!” cried a younger toned male voice, “..WHOA?!? What happened?!?” another girl’s voice said. this and other declarations indicated all at once about 13 teenagers one by one jumped out of the racing cars or stuck their heads out the side of the canopy. 9 of the children were between the age of 9-10 and all human, but one was a human teen of about 14 or so years, a human male teen of 13, and a half-human/romulan girl of about 14-15 years.

Once he realised he had not been turned into road killl… or at least gnarly road hamburger… peopleburger? he let out his breath and dropped his arms. “That would be my fault for not checking what program was running…” He grumbled to himself and made a mental note in the future to always make sure that the program running would be safe for him to enter… truly today he learned a lesson. He then raised one of his hands again. “Sorry kids, I didn’t mean to interrupt the sim.”

From his right and behind him the much older voice of a female woman spoke, “..Well, good afternoon to you too.” was hear d and once he would turn some to that the speaker could see his rank, was added. “..Lt Commander..” turning he would see the Ark Angel’s Captain, a Romulan in her mid-late 140s or so standing at 6‘2 in height with well muscled tone build and strong feminine features with a commanding presence look him over. “..You are lucky the holosuite’s computer was able to engage the safety protocols so quickly, otherwise you may not be feeling so ‘good’ right now. In either case,” She said turning to the assembled children and teens. “..Computer reset holosuite program ‘Team Building Race 1’ to time index -30 seconds since start.” the Romulan said, immediately the program reset and they all now found themselves back on the top of the hill now. Looking back to Kane, the Romulan who was wearing it seems a slightly dirtied blue-jean mechanic’s suit spoke, “..You must be Lt Commander Kane, my new XO. Commodore Andone.” She said extending a hand to shake.

The 5‘8 looked up to the Commodore, in more ways then one and extended his own hand, he took hers and shook before nodding. “Yes ma’am I am. I would hate to have to be emergency transported back to the Medbay on my first day.” He chuckled softly. “I apologize for the undignified display I should be better than that… I’ve fought against many much deadlier forces.” He sighed softly. “It is a pleasure to meet you Ma’am, I am indeed Kane, a pleasure to make your acquaintance and to be serving under you.”

”..Urgh come on Mom!” The older teen girl’s voice spoke, “..I know you’re ‘never off duty’ but you promised all the kids here to focus on our team building homework for mechanical design with this race!” she said.

Glancing at the girl, “..Tel’eck, I will resume recording your team’s work and race in a moment. I am sure the new Commander here might even enjoy watching you and your friends and those you help work together..” she said.

Kane nodded. “I do apologize for interrupting your team building exercise. If you would have me I would be happy to stay and watch the race.” He said offering the kids a friendly smile.
