After his meeting with the CSO, Cochrane thought for a few long minutes before leaving his office and making his way to the Counselor’s office. He had checked prior to make sure she was free, so arriving he pressed the chime and waited to be let in.

“Please, come in!” A frail voice called from within. Situated behind a desk that seemed larger than she was, the Counselor was reviewing information on a PaDD situated just within her reach. Checking the chronometer, she muttered to herself, knowing she had no appointments at the time. Shrugging, she waited for the man to step into the room.

The door opened and the XO walked in and stood in front of the desk. With a friendly smile, he said “Hello, Doctor. I was wondering if you had a spare moment since your appointment calendar was clear? Nothing drastic. Interpersonal issue between a Department Head and subordinate that was brought to my attention. Was hoping to pick your brain on it.”
